this game basically encapsulates why i will not watch a single game live as long as ty is coach.

recorded delayed games where i can fast forward through our collapses is the only way forward.

i do wish we had lost tonight so ty lou can go shove it in the unemployed line where he belongs right now. if your team plays shit defense for a game or 2, sure players not playing hard enough. if you team does game after game after game and then gives up 130 including a 50 point quarter to a team using 90% leaguers? its on the coach. theres no more excuses for him.

this was by far the worst performance ive ever seen and was only salvaged by pg and kawhi being transcendent AGAIN

Russ and Morris were on the court watching Paul and Kawhi be superstars so that we could limp past a drastically inferior opponent so they will start the next 5 games, too.

Absolutely, bittersweet win. We cannot win with Morris playing 25 min, and no Roco.

Also, Russ played 34 min, but T. Mann only had 18 min.

During the middle of the 3rd quarter, Memphis kept hitting shot after shot, and no defense by the Clippers. I was numb, and my wife was growling — what is wrong with Coach, why doesn’t he play Roco, fire Coach!

There was a pause, and I said (around the 2 min. mark of the 3rd) — this is really bad, but I feel ok. Maybe, I’m just used to the losing from the 5 games, but there is a lot of time left, and we are going to win this game.

Ok, I don’t believe what I said myself, and the look on my wife’s face — she thought I was crazy.

Then, PG caught that elbow from Jaren Jackson, and we got a call overturned in our favor, and Playoff mode of PG was activated. Kawhi’s defense and shot got recalibrated, and our two stars carried us to a win. Basketball is a game of runs.

A young Grizzlies team faltered in the 4th (although, relying soley on the 3 point shot is not sustainable for the whole game), and they made bad shot selections. If Ja Morant was playing — don’t know if we would have won.

Happy that we won, but why the heck is Morris playing in the 2nd half. He finally made two 4th Q shots (2 of 6 in 25 min. is not efficient), and why wasn’t Roco alternating with Nico?

Russ is too inconsistent, but 34 min. for Russ and only 18 for T. Mann? WTF.

The reality is that we need super PG and KL to play great for every remaining game, if Coach plays 34 min. of Russ and 24 min. of Morris. That’s depressing — even after a great win.

Terance should be playing at least 30 min. Morris — 8 min. in the 1st and take a seat, if he has no pop. Russ on the 2nd unit, but no more than 20 min.

Yeah, but for PG literally saving Lue’s job, Lue’s message to the fan base and the F.O. was ‘FU’ when he DNP’d Roco and played Morris that many minutes. This was 1 win. We need 4 more in a row to have a real shot at saving this season.

We started Nico in the 2nd half and that’s when the roof caved in. Am wondering if we just don’t have anyone that’s not an old man to play the 4. Of course I’m in the #free RoCo club but that’s obviously not going to happen. I wonder if what we should consider—especially once Norm is back—is starting both PG and Kawhi as “Forwards” with EJ starting at the 2. I really wish Mann would be the 1 but like RoCo starting that’s probably not going to happen either. EJ, Kawhi and PG is a lot of gravity.

Is he? According to basketball reference, he’s at 113, an above-average rating on the Clippers. According to DBPM, he’s at -0.3, around a neutral. According to the eye-test, he does all the things I mentioned. He’s clearly a very switchable defender which helps your team to not offer exploits. Feel free to re-watch the game. How many breakdowns are caused by him, how many by others? Is he below average or is it maybe, just maybe that you only see what you wanna see and ignore the rest?

Mook and Russ were +11 and +9 respectively. LOL. Only EJ was better at +20 (shocker).

There are things that Plumlee does that are better than Zu the most critical being to kick the ball back outside after an offensive board. Zu routinely tries to go back up with it and gets stripped. Maddening.

Maybe someone should point this out to Zu so we get all the good stuff rom him without the putback disasters.
