But I think you’ve got a little bit of a crush and aren’t seeing things in an objective light. This is a guy who was a decent rotation piece on the Mavs when they finished 13th, earned a deal with the Kings, and played himself out of the rotation there. He’s a fringe NBA guy, he can do some stuff, etc. If we had a need at guard he’d be solid–and we just so happen to have a short-term need, and he’s solid! But the long-term (not future seasons but going through a playoff run) need is at F, not G. I mean, I even said the Clippers shouldn’t try to sign Austin Rivers because we don’t need a guard, and he’s not only a personal favorite but someone with a much longer record of making contributions to good teams during the playoffs.

The Yogi selling point for me was not the very cool lob to TMann but his fight for the rebound just before and tipping it away from a big who had no idea Yogi was making a play for the ball. Not only that, he successfully (and carefully) tipped the ball to himself. Those are winning type plays Lucas. Am I going to annoint Yogi for that play of his first complete outing? No. But I’m not going to ignore it either. And, Yogi looks like a guy who could pretty much stay with the likes of Schroder, KCP, CP3 …

Compared to a 6’8″ combo forward who can bring a little energy and defend (seriously, why didn’t we sign RHJ ages ago), who I actually feel like we might situationally need.

So, I get it because Yogi had a great debut but if I’m being cold and dispassionate I still feel like in a pinch we’re starting Pat, playing Rondo a ton, Reggie gets burn, you go big w/ PG at PG before going to Yogi, you bring in Terance and Luke before going to Yogi… not sure where the situational utility is on a healthy roster.

The rest will come, albeit slowly. Can the lake show fall to the play in? The experts and lake show hopeful say no way. I’d say it’s somewhere between possible and probable. How about ?able (??). Will also say that lakes could lost again vs. Mavs IF Zinger plays but that’s up in the air. Mavs want the sweep badly.

While I feel like every one of our roleplayers at any given moment will step up if needed, Morris definitely seems as reliable as you can get.

Will be interesting if they decide they need PG depth over wing depth.

Given how little PatBev has played this year, I probably would want to have PG depth, but you could argue that after KL, PG, Mann, Kennard, and Coffey, they don’t really have a full compliment of 3rd string players on the wings, and Yogi would be the 4th string PG if everyone is healthy. At least, hopefully the team gets to see Yogi for a few more weeks and can decide then. Definitely based on this one game, he has a leg up on the competition.

Cousins is big, grabs rebounds, takes charges, and is at least is a threat to score at multiple levels.

Who else is even available? Ian Mahinmi, Tyson Chandler, Omari Spellman.. Meyers Leonard (lol).

Also Dallas taking down Los Fakers (my new favorite unfriendly mocking pejorative for The Team Across the Hall). AD 17 min, 2 for 10, 4 pts.
