Yes, indeed. Russ’ finishing is his biggest weakness imo because it’s the one that’s the easiest to exploit and it’s also the one most regularly occurring. He can make up to a large degree for not hitting his 3s by adjusting his game but if neither his layups nor his jump shots go in, his entire game, including shot quality and playmaking is affected. Just getting the touch right on the high-speed blow-bys would help so much

WNT you mean is JH had more turnovers than assist. Russ’ aggression is his blessing and curse. If he could display better touch both shooting and around the rim he’d be the best ever. if Bones was mature he could be beneficial now as well. Ty Lue is currently looking for combinations that will work well in the playoffs he’s not going to show his hand in February so he can get scouted and someone has a counter for his actions. We want to win every game but taking a few L’s will prepare us for what is to come in April.

I thought the PJ-at-center lineup was pretty decent and the main reason why we played with energy in the second half. They were just very unlucky on 50/50 balls and calls and the offense had some issues – but absolutely nothing compared to the turnover galore we saw in the Plumlee/PJ/Russ lineup. I hate seeing both Plumlee and Russ chase offensive rebounds and then we give up transition buckets. With PJ, Mann and Russ, it actually saves some possessions and isn’t nearly as vulnerable in transition.

We also close out better, we force more turnovers, we rotate better and I can’t exactly say that our rim protection suffers.

Not opposed to PJ or Theis minutes. Not opposed to Plumlee as a player either but he really doesn’t fit our second unit. Replacing Zu with the starters, playing a lot with Harden and spacing around but no Russ is a decent enough fit. That’s the general problem, the player skills are there but finding suitable lineups outside of the starters has proven really challenging for Ty.

Stat of the game to me: no Norm, 20 turnovers. NOT a coincidence whatsoever

Nice to see pj finally get some run huh guess the scary thing I thought was Coffey got seriously gun shy which was tough to watch? Also our d finally returned but it was the grizzlies? If our offensive efficiency doesn’t return on Sunday I am a little annoyed but not worried. Probably will be like a 140-130 win at this point

I get not wanting to play Plumlee – he’s been ass ever since his injury – but why not give Theis some run? This team plays better w/ a C out there and if Plumlee can’t hang as the backup C, Theis was perfectly fine there earlier this season.
