Frustratingly, Lue prefers his offensive players more than defensive players when during offense, the plays are set up for PG or KL anyways, so what is the use of surrounding superstars with more offense (and less defense) when the team have defensive and energy players (Lue decides to bench) to create synergy for 213.

Unless Lue finds success (?!?) in his propensity to play offensive role players to surround 213 in favor of defensive players, this will be disappointing season since there have been no urgency to adjust his rotation season to date. Just cannot do this with good teams. Opposing coaches will feast on Lue’s rotation preference.

What does Mann do differently to help Kennard get shots? Well, he initiates the offense a lot, reads the floor, and passes it to him during offensive sets, getting Luke touches, getting the defense to react. As the ball moves, Kennard starts to get more open and Mann has the floor general instincts to get the ball redirected to Luke. PG/Kawhi have barely looked at Kennard in the last 2 games b/c they’re thinking like Alpha dogs. The simple answer is to pair Kennard with someone who can initiate the offense. That’s Reggie and Mann.

I don’t get why this feels like rocket science to Ty Lue.

I think he may have expected John Wall to be like a coach on the floor, but Wall isn’t really cut out for it.
