Kawhi didn’t force the FO to hand Kennard $64 million before a single game was played. He didn’t make them draft Jerome instead of MPJ, which is what probably ended up costing us SGA. He didn’t run the least inspiring coaching search in recent memory and settle for promoting from within the coaching staff that had just blown a 3-1 lead. He’s not the one who missed the chance to trade Trez at the deadline last season and ended up letting him walk for nothing.

This FO has been a disaster and nearly all of it is their own fault, not Kawhi’s.

People here are tired from hearing about the OKC trade. There was no other option.

I hate the trade a lot, but I don’t blame the FO. You can’t blame the FO so much for the rest b/c since that trade, we’ve had very little to play with. There have been mishaps, but nothing major. The biggest problem is that we are in no position to chase opportunities. If we weren’t forced by Leonard to trade for PG, we totally could have traded for Harden this year. This is way more Leonard’s fault than the FO’s.

Kennard is a bust rn, no excuse, but i honestly have more of a problem with lou than anything else. Lou gets so much applause for his offense but at the same time I dont even value it that much. In my eyes, we should be a five out team, with kawhi and pg focusing on driving to the basket and kicking or taking mid rangers to mix it up. Lou takes these mid ranger contested shots that just dont make sense anymore, not with our current team construction. We are a great three point threat and we dont take advantage of it enough; pg and kawhi have to be more in a facilitating role, especially kawhi, cus when he drives and kicks, he creates almost the best shot in the league. I have hope for this team because i saw what we were doing earlier in this season, where we moved the ball expertly, but for some reason we have moved away from that, and it has coincided with a greater role for lou. Im happy lou is getting better numbers, but it actually hurts the team.

So you’re cool with the continued late-game failures, especially from PG? Luke Kennard making $64 million while being completely unplayable is okay with you? You don’t see any issues with Reggie and Lou still being in key roles even though they can’t play defense or perform in the playoffs?

I’m not just worried about the loss. Also worried about the injury to MM – the team was thin enough as is…but on the bright side I guess we get to see more Zu and possibly Kennard?

Crazy how people are just excusing losses like this like we’re not statistically the most unclutch team in the league regardless of who’s playing. I don’t know if the Nuggets series is still in their heads or what, but it’s a huge problem. They’re getting exposed by every decent opponent they play lately.

I look at this team and I have a hard time seeing them even make it back to the second round. I’ve long since given up on the WCF. The West is too competitive, and we just have too many bad contracts and too many poor defenders/terrible playoff performers in key roles. It feels like we’re back in the late Lob City era with a team that’s clearly a tier or two below the actual contenders and not enough assets or flexibility to help us catch up to them.

Our front office doesn’t get criticized enough, IMO. They aren’t good at drafting. They give crazy amounts of money to players who aren’t worth it. They got fleeced by OKC. The mistakes have added up.
