Saw a lot of Garland heroics. I changed channels with just under 2 minutes left. Woke up to a great surprise.

Nic Batum’s veteran skills will come in handy during crunch time.
I remember a game against the Spurs, and the Clipper (Ryan Gomes) couldn’t execute a proper inbound pass, and either Manu or Tony P. ended up stealing the ball. It was brutal.

I’d agree on Roco. I think Batum is looking a little washed. Also, these young guns that are taking over the league are just bigger and quicker at the forward position.

I think both Batum and RoCo need more minutes to get their games going. Doubt both have suddenly lost it. RoCo has looked like himself here and there with active hands and all. IMO there just haven’t been enough minutes to go around with all the talent. It’s still the famous “work in progress.”

I was at the game. Best win of the year. Defense in the last 5 minutes was excellent. Give Reggie a lot of credit for taking the challenge on Garland and for even playing after his injury the day before. He was matched up so many times against bigs like Allen but never stopped competing. Powell made an impact at the FT line in Q4 and with one big layup (though he missed the FT). We really did need some offense from him to beat a team as good as Cleveland. Up until that point he was getting abused bu Donovan Mitchell. T-Mann was great and this game really turned when he re-entered with about 5 min left. Lue keeps leaving him on the bench and you just can’t play small ball without him. As a whole, the Clips are very thin on the front line against these younger teams with mobile bigs. PG was MVP worthy for 3 quarters then largely disappeared in the 4th b/c of fatigue until he hit the big go ahead layup at the end. Morris is playing too many minutes. He’s ideal at 25-27 minutes. Over 30 is just too much and his efficiency is impacted. Batum and Covington have been bad so far this year and they’ve either got to get better or Clips need to make a trade to get another PF and backup center.

Amazingly, Mitchell did not make a bucket in the last 10 minutes or so. Hardly got a shot off. Nice stifling defense.
