The offense down the stretch would’ve been much better with Zu in there running screen and roll with either PG, Kawhi, Reggie, or Norm. The reliance on lazy 3pt shooting instead of playing through Zu or running screen roll put the Clips in a big hole in Q1 and nearly cost them the game in Q4. As I’ve often said on this site, the Clips are not a good drive and kick team. They’re not even a good 3 pt shooting team. What they excel at is beating folks off the dribble, getting into the midrange and paint area, and running post up with Zu. It’s only when the defense gets sucked in by constant rim pressure that the 3pt ball starts to fall, because the shots are just more wide open. Yes, Kawhi and PG can get their off the dribble 3s, but the big runs they’ve had recently have come with very few 3pt shots being made.

Norm Powell was electric offensively, but his damn fouls slowed momentum. He has to be better on the defensive end. I don’t care if he gets blown by, he just can’t foul and give the other team points. Make the offense earn it.

Still, a win is a win, but Lue needs to clean some things up if this team is going to beat Milwaukee
