Exactly right. Clips have their Core Four, and if those guys are healthy they’ll be a solid playoff team. That gets you to #5 to #8, and as it happens they have 6 guys to fill those 4 slots, DJJ, Batum, Dunn, Amir, TMann, KPJ. A lot of choices to be made in there, but there’s also a lot of time for testing and trials.

Vibes are good, Kawhi looking healthy, fewer boneheaded TOs, and nobody is shirking responsibility in postgame pressers and/or podcasts. I don’t care that I still don’t think we’re really a top tier contender a la OKC, Houston, Denver, Cleveland, or Boston – this season has been a great palate cleanser after last year.

I’d rather have it that way. I always preferred my Clips flying under the radar. LeBron flying high and in the spotlight just makes it even more satisfying to see the Clips drag his ass back down to Earth again.

Is Nurk better than Mo in a vacuum? Probably. But dude just seems to always run into problems wherever he goes, and his tantrums w/ Phoenix are just the latest example. Allegedly he was pretty pissed off at the Nuggets for going w/ Jokic over him too. I’d be very careful about adding him to the locker room when the vibes are this good – especially since he isn’t even close to being good enough to justify his potential locker room problems.

Yea I’m relatively old for a Clippers fan, but nothing compared to an actual OG Clips fan. I started actually following the Clippers towards the end of Fitch’s tenure. I was aware of him and Larry Brown at a most basic of basic levels, but I really didn’t become a hardcore fan until the knucklehead years

I wanna say that PGs absence has led to fewer TOs which goes along with fewer unpredictable bodily contortions (as uve sed before) and so fewer injuries. But James’ accounts for all of PGs TOs and then some. Maybe the saving grace is that PGs TOs were more of the dumb ass variety than James’. We just gotta hope that any injuries we suffer — and we’ll get them — are the more manageable ones.

My general take about playoff basketball is it’s about the health of stars and then the quality of your rotation from #3 to #8. I think you can go back through the history of NBA playoffs and make a case that the team that had the better role players (to go with healthy stars) won most of the time. The Clips have a level of depth that can win the title if the stars are healthy. It does depend on Ty Lue running the right rotations and I think a lot of Clipper nation is somewhat nervous to skeptical about his decision making. Even in last night’s game, we went quite a while without Zu on the floor and Giannis was getting to the FT line with ease. That said, the Clips have the pieces to make a title run. They need enough reps with this rotation and good health.
