The Clippers’ offense this season has, if just for brief stretches, called to mind The Beautiful Game played so memorably by the 2014 Spurs (Kawhi was part of that).

If anybody has a recording of the game, watch the clip Jalen Rose showed at halftime. It was Mann, Lou, Zu, Morris and Kawhi, and they looked awesome moving the ball. Rose said something like he watches all these teams in the league, and they all look the same, it’s so refreshing to watch the Clippers, exhausting posessions, driving the lane kicking the ball out hitting the open 3 point shooter, giving up good shots to get great shots, not 5 guys standing at the 3 point line, etc. And the clip he showed, they looked absolutely nothing like they looked in the last 4 minutes. They just have to figure out the last part of the game, play like they did earlier in the game, the ingredients are there. Take some of the pressure off Kawhi and PG that they have to take every shot good or bad. They still have half the season, so plenty of time, they should be able to get it together.

Yea, given how Rubio’s played this season, Bev for Rubio feels like a lateral move at best.

The only guy who’s (reportedly) available who would fit the “unicorn” description is Kyle Lowry, and I doubt the Clips have the assets to get him.

Having a better floor general/distributor in crunch time would help, but really the way to “fix” it is for Lue, PG13, and Kawhi to watch the film, and realize that they need to stop changing the plays they run in the last couple minutes. The offense hums along perfectly fine for like 90% of the game as is – why suddenly (and predictably) change it when the game is on the line?

And he absolutely is not taking the ball out of Kawhi or PG’s hands in crunch time. He’ll stand in the corner like the rest of the guys and the D will sag off of him. The need a PG to fix the crunch time offense is plain wrong.

I know this has been discussed, but I can’t remember outcome. Is Rubio in the cards? He would be great for this team. He’s not a great 3-point shooter, but he’s good enough that defense has to guard him and the guy is just a smart smart bball player who makes everyone around him better. He would need a coach to empower him, but he’s the type of guy who would make sure the right guy took the right shot at crunch time.
