Other teams might just think they can do better in free agency if they’re not going to be competing this season. I think he might have some value to a contender, but they’re not handing out their skilled bigs either.

Something like Norm for Rui Hachimura might be beneficial for both teams, but feels like these teams don’t really want to help eachother out often (at least now that Magic is gone).

Russ has been mostly good Russ, but he still has some pretty fundamental shortcomings where he can hurt the team. Especially in the playoffs, I feel like teams will really game plan around Russ’ lack of shooting.

Bones was showing the makings to really be a true scoring point guard, unlike Norm. So wedging him into the rotation instead of Norm might not be the right answer. Norm/Bones defensively was a tough watch at times last season, so hopefully Bones has also made some improvement on that end.

Over the course of the season, Bones will get his shot, regardless of another trade. He needs to take advantage of any opportunity he gets.

This said it all but I appreciate the honesty! I’m all about winning & doing what’s best the team RIGHT NOW.

There’s no doubt that Bones & Brown have more upside but this team isn’t built for that. They’re built to win NOW. It’d be great to be able to develop guys while still prioritizing winning (the nuggets) but this team needs to find their identity 1st. They can’t afford to experiment with young guys who aren’t ready. For now, what’s best for Brown is to get G league reps & stay locked in on the film, he’s completely lost defensively. Bones just lacks what’s needed between the ears. His decision making is really bad but I’m sure he’ll get a shot soon.

He’s serviceable as a small ball 4. If we are trading Tucker or Norm then it could open up a limited role for him.

That could be why he fit right in right away. Theis easily replaces Batum, Covington, and Morris.

Thank you Russ Westbrook for your accepting the bench role. Although Russ drives me completely crazy with his turnovers, his Kamikaze style of play does work. He needs the right complimentary pieces but Russ can make the 2nd unit formidable.

Russ is hyper competitor. He is not competing against the opposing teams, he is now competing with Harden. He has something to prove. That is good for the Clips.

But he hasn’t shot well and he doesn’t move well. I’d roll the dice on some minutes for Kobe over him to be honest. Gallo is far, far too slow on the defensive end

If he were bought out and there were space on the roster I’m not sure if I’d want him back or not. Although there’s a good fit I wouldn’t want him as a starter, but he’d be an intriguing bench piece for sure.

Him and Kawhi were always a big ‘what if’…

I get that PJ hustles and grinds, but he literally cannot handle PF duties – like I’d actually even be ok if Ty wanted to try out Kobe next to PJ (who would be manning C in a smallball lineup) in limited stretches. It just feels like a complete waste of a draft pick to take an older, “NBA ready” prospect only to refuse to play him to see what he can do.

Ty gleefully throws veterans like MM and PJ out there regardless of the results, but is completely unwilling to try out a young guy, even though said young guy can actually get better and help out the team in the long run – it’s the same deal with Norm vs Bones. Norm is a more consistent scorer than Bones, but Bones can help in ways Norm can’t (e.g. playmaking), and still hasn’t reached his ceiling yet.

Anyways, this was just a long way of saying “if we’re going to lose, I’d rather lose while developing a young guy than trotting out a vet whose limits we’re already painfully aware of,” and “I do not like Ty’s favoritism.”
