No Randle, no Anunoby against a fully loaded Indiana team; got down by double digits and Brunson willed them to a win, making role players like DiVincenzo, McBride, and Achiuwa look like all stars. Hartenstein is a straight up gangsta’. He’s become one of the most unsung players in the league. He’s the anchor of the defense and he keeps the Knicks offense going with on time/on target passes and just constant activity on the boards and positioning himself off the ball. With the Embiid injury and Doc being Doc, the Knicks look like they’re on a trajectory for the #2 seed. Their chances of reaching the conference finals are growing by the day.

However, long-term I’d love to have Stewart. Also got a weak spot for players with a big heart and I’m convinced Stewart is such a guy. He could take his play to a whole different level on the right team

My order of preferences would go WCJ, Olynyk, Stewart.

I’d also love to take a (cheaper) flier on Obi Toppin if he’s available.

But I don’t think that folks wanted to ship him outta town for just any PF – I think it was more “we have no PFs, and Zu, Norm, Mann, and Plumlee are the only guys on the roster we could potentially trade for a legit NBA-caliber PF.” Like, if Norm was somehow gonna get us Spicy P I don’t think anyone would’ve complained. Also despite Norm cooking lately, this team does still need a PF – maybe not against every team, but against certain contending teams (e.g. the TWolves) the PF spot is still a pretty glaring weakness that will likely come back to bite us if we don’t address it.
