I know I complained about Marcus Morris, but man I can’t imagine sitting through 75 games of PJ Tucker. I guess his stats were slightly better last season, at least he was hitting his shots, and taking more of them, but still 4 FGA/36 is not great.

I was praying the Bucks had a matching salary they would give up for PJ because we all know there’s nothing Doc loves more than a tough vet way past their prime.

And definitely a 3 pt threat–he’s no Markannen, bur can get hot in a hurry. Can’t leave him open.

I’m for hanging onto the guy. If we cut him loose, here’s betting we regret it.

This makes sense to work with what we have, now that the deadline has passed and there do not appear to be many viable buyout options to fill our need for a backup PF (which would first require opening up a roster spot). Maybe PJ DOES have something left and can be played situationally. His toughness would be welcome if he can hit an occasional 3 and play some D. He’s obviously motivated considering all the noise he is making. And certainly well rested.

The next convo he needs to have is with Russ. Russ is not a small ball 5 or a utility guy. He’s a point guard. He needs to play that role better. There’s a real multiplier effect on the floor when he’s playing well. When he plays the point at a high level this is a team that will not lose more than 1-2 games per playoff series. He can be that much of a difference maker.

I think the mindset will be better than it was when he first joined the team. We have a bullyball game coming up against Minnesota. He may play a few minutes in that game to see how he fares.

I SUPPOSE if you have the right matchup that calls for a more physical presence off the bench, maybe you consider it, but I don’t think many teams have some offensive minded big coming off the bench that you need PJ for.

I just hated how on offense he’s such a zero threat to even shoot the ball. He just camps in the corner and makes life hard for the other 4 guys on the floor. Even if they pass him the ball, feels like he doesn’t even look at the basket. How do you put up 2 shots PER36?

Of 537 NBA players, PJ Tucker ranks #530 of 537 in FGA PER36. Everyone below him is zero and played in like 1 game. It’s not even the lack of offensive skill that bothers me, it’s the lack of even trying to do ANYTHING on that end that made him unplayable for me.

Buy out options…
Option A= Danilo Gallinari
Can space the floor, hit 3s, & get to the free throw line plus he is a good rebounder, but probably not good on defense.
Option B= Thaddeus Young
Good defender and rebounder.
