I’d be curious what his options were. Definitely feels like he prioritized a destination where he would be the starter. I assume if he had other offers, they weren’t significantly more.

Did he just not want to go back to Washington? you’d think they could give him like $8M – $10M a season and have a very nice trade asset. Same thing I felt about Gary Trent Jr. I guess we might never know the offers they had, or how much they prioritized being on a good team. Just crazy these guys are left taking minimum deals.

As much as I liked Tyus, he wasn’t starting here. So he’s not taking the Clips minimum deal. Could they have convinced Washington to take a S&T for PJ or Westbrook to get Tyus above a minimum? Maybe? Maybe thats where the Tyus rumors started when the Dunn deal was in hold. Seems like Westbrook was pretty loved there, so give them a 2nd round pick swap and some cash for a guy they weren’t going to sign anyways. But that’s the kind of deal where maybe Tyus opts for a starting spot over an extra $1M?

George was surely one. He said he was depressed being in the bubble. George must have had another relapse with “depression” this year going against DJJ.

If I remember correctly, Lou Williams was busy eating wings at a strip joint in Atlanta.

Williams was soon gone as a result.

George was jettisoned as soon as soon as his contract was up. Ballmer purposefully lowballed George with a trade-friendly offer. The Clippers wanted him removed.

I don’t believe Ballmer puts up with a “half-ass” effort which describes George’s game.

You know I kinda think that if another real move was contemplated (aside from moving PJ, etc.), that it would have already been made. We may well be done.

I’m not 100% certain that Dunn is better than Tyus but it’s certainly a valid argument to make. It’s not that I’m so high on Tyus as much I’m just bitching again about how paralyzed we are while hoping there’s still one more move we will make. I’m looking at this team as if Kawhi isn’t on it and will have to survive on its own. How good are we without him and would we even make a playoff seed? We need to add another impact offensive player (preferably at the 4) to sniff the bottom four slots IMO with the possibility of a “healthy” Kawhi returning at full strength near the end of the season for playoff run. I loved what we were doing up until the crickets and lack of a consolidation trade. My preference was to blow it up last summer but if we’re going to take this hybrid approach we should be using all tools available to still compete.

Here’s hoping we either land a Collins or some other PF or cash in on a Kawhi trade.

I love Tyus Jones on a minimum deal for the Suns, but he was unnecessary for us after we got Dunn, and it’s not like he’s what will make the Suns into legit contenders – a Tyus Jones, Beal, Booker, KD, and Nurkic lineup is *miserable* on defense. I like what they’ve done this offseason but they are really hamstrung by that Beal contract (…like what would’ve happened to us if we re-signed George, w/ or w/o a NTC).

Also I think Dunn fits this roster a lot better – Tyus Jones isn’t a good defender, and we already have plenty of poor defenders at the PG spot (…at least until we trade Bones).

We still have a hole at PF and/or in terms of overall bulk/size, but I really don’t think Phoenix is in a tier above us or anything. This roster, assuming Kawhi can play, is in the muddled middle of the West, alongside like the Lakers, Mavs, Suns, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Kings, Warriors, and Rockets. Now, do I think we’re better than those teams? No, not necessarily – I think Grizzlies, Pelicans, Lakers, amd Suns are probably better than us, but not by *that* much . But I don’t think any of those other teams are in the Denver/OKC/Minnesota tier either, though I do think Memphis and New Orleans could make the jump if things go well for them.

Suns sign Tyus jones to vet minimum. Unreal how lame we are. They either have something in the works around the Markkanen deal helping GS (Collins would be nice) or are planing to move Kawhi is all I can figure. Short of option A it doesn’t appear they are serious about winning.
