I stand in support of these being our tea leaves, with RHJ slightly ahead of Gr3, behind Batum. Hopefully hes over his injuries of the past several years and still has some defense, passing, and open shooting ability left in his tank!

Generally agree, though pointing out that Lou has publicly alluded/referred to his discontent with the period of his career spent playing for the Hou Rockets… which makes me think:
a) LAC might prefer not to do Lou ‘wrong’ by trading him back to there
b) Houston may have reluctance bringing Lou back for the same reason.
Houston may also very realistically wish to make a push for a championship with the current group rostered, since thry’ve evidently been finding the market difficult for unloading Westbrook’s contract.
They did add Cristian Wood and Boogie Cousins, and will have a healthier Gerald Green theoretically returning to help cover their loss of Covington. And if this is the case, I’d imagine they view keeping Tucker in the fold as more pivotal to their chances of winning than bringing in Lou, when they’ve already got the aforementioned Green + Eric Gordon to fulfill their sixth men scoring duties… Just my two cents!

Certainly no guarantee. But Clips (and other teams) have been in contact with him about potentially signing him after he’s waived. Other teams have filled out their roster spots. Clips have not. Reading the tea leaves, I think we’re probably getting him–or at the very least, the main reason why we would be sitting around instead of signing GR3 or RHJ is because we’re going after Batum and those guys are fallbacks.

What I meant was are there other teams that will be looking to pick him up as well. Even if Clips make him an offer no assurance he comes here.

If he clears waivers the hornets are responsible for paying his 27mil, less the amount he agrees to play for his new team. So it’s really a personal choice for Batam not a financial one. (I think)

Reading the Celtics and Hornets working on a S+T for Hayward with the Hornets trying to find a third team to take Batum. Fingers crossed they don’t find one !
