I think are best card to play is to be a ball hawking defensive juggernaut and Powell takes that away from us. If the team can get off to good starts with tough D, they’ll at least give themselves legit chances to stay close and maybe steal some games.

Yeah I think your Powell point makes sense. There will be kinks to work out and see how folks gel. I just heard Robt Horry say that if KPJr has his head on straight that he could help a lot. Agree?

I think the whole team is generally going to be solid, but the story will be about Harden bringing everything together on the court. We have some great defenders and guys who should play well or even thrive playing off of Harden. Batum should be an awesome accelerant playing next to Harden. I’m hoping Zu continues to pop. I really think everyone is just going to be solid.

Only caveat is that I think we might need Powell to come off the bench for things to really come together. I hope Ty makes that move early if we’re not playing well to start the season. Powell’s defense makes him a real liability playing next to Harden and we don’t really need his fire power in the starting line up with Harden and Batum should be enough to get our offense flowing nicely. Hope I’m wrong on this, but I feel pretty strongly.

I’m calling it now: if we don’t do a big trade that blows up our team, we’re going to outperform this year. We’re going to win more than the 37 games Vegas is predicting and I think we could actually make the playoffs. I don’t think this team is that much worse than last year’s team overall after taking into account the ups and downs of last season.

Salary of Norm + PJ = Grant. No idea why POR wants to do that, maybe to get out of Grant’s contract. I don’t know.
Miller & Kai is so impressive in preseason, hope they get a chance to play.

If I remember correctly, DeAndre had no skills except the ability to run, jump, rebound, and block shots. It’s the same as Skai Jones. I like him a lot.

KPJ is a superior talent to Bones and I like Bones.

Jordan Miller needs to play.

I like this team. These Clippers will be fun to watch.

Yes. We’ve needed a pogo and he’s definitely looking like he could be him. But like many have pointed out he’s got some learning to do. I’m optimistic now after recent outings however.

Happy to see Kai get his life back together and glad to see him rewarded w/ a two-way deal. He’s probably never gonna blossom into a DJ-level guy, but a young, big, hyper-athletic dude who hustles every play is a welcome addition to what this roster has been for years now (re: old, slow, unathletic). I actually think he could supplant Mo eventually for the backup C spot depending on how long it takes him to work back from his knee injury.
