Yes, that would be pretty fun to watch. Also agreed on Nico as another option. The big problem for this lineup: Harden has played more than 2.400 minutes last season. He can be passable when surrounded by strong defenders, heck, he was good defensively for a stretch. But reverted back to no-effort for the last months of the season. That’s one thing I believe will be very similar to 2023/24: how Harden performs will remain critical for the team performance and if he’s healthy he’s gonna eat a ton of minutes.

That’s the biggest obstacle of seeing more defensive-minded lineups – or having a defense-first mindset as a team

Now that Zu has been extended, for this season to really work they need to also extend Terance Mann. He is the most visible face of the franchise and if he’s going to step up as a top scorer/offensive option, he’ll need the respect that comes with a big salary. If you’re not getting paid, you’re not getting priority in the pecking order or getting the ball in optimal situations.

We’re in the back end of Harden’s and Kawhi’s careers. For them to be truly impactful, both Zu and Mann have to have a higher volume of touches and shots.

My view is that this Clipper team, if coached optimally, is capable of making a run at the conference finals. This squad has the potential to be one of the best defensive teams in the league and have one of the deepest rosters from 1-9. A lot depends on how this team plays when Zu is off the floor and that’s where Lue will have to earn his money.

Glad the Clips extended Zu. He’s one of the best centers in the game. When he’s on the floor, the Clips are a top 4 capable team. When he’s off the floor they’re basically a lottery team.

Depends what your definition of getting beat is. I’ve seen Luka step back on Zu over and over again and hit those daggers. Luka literally salivates at the prospect of going one on one vs. Zu. I’d much rather see Nico out there switching to give him a real challenge. As they say, the definition of insanity…..

Nope! That’s not getting beat. Luka literally can’t get past Zu, so he resorts to a step back. If Zu wasn’t quick enough, Luka would simply go AROUND him.

Ditto for the death lineup.
Throw in Batum, Coffey and we have loads capable defender on the team.
Hope Miller and maybe Brown is stepping his game and getting into rotation too.
