Have been happily detached from the Clippers, loved watching Jokic, intrigued at the possibility of Zu being set free as a Jokic-stopper.

But taking the stretch guy seems like Ty Lue basketball–don’t worry, the rebounds will take care of themselves, Russ is a great rebounder, PG and Kawhi will rebound if they’re actually on the court. The whole thing went to a weird level of unimagined frustration. In hindsight I even disagree with RFlom and think that Ty underplayed Moses Brown, going with 4 guard lineups and giving away leads and games. I would have rather seen Brown in some vague and relatively clueless version of drop coverage and around the rim, forcing teams to make shots. Offensive rebounds are killers–and that was the hurt that Moses managed to put on other teams. Haven’t made it over to the Moses exit post. Diabate rebounds, at least. Getting Morris out is still the #1 priority.

Too bad about Brown’s rebounding. I really like his outlet passing and ability to kind of push the pace after a rebound, but maybe that is moot if he isn’t the one grabbing the defensive board.

Milsap was intriguing because he had a high rebounding rate, but the Clippers took Davis because they’re lame.

Truthfully, I wouldn’t mind if they got rid of all their fours and gave Moussa and Brown time to grow.

Sounds like this is not some homerun kind of move, but it fits in my belief of late picks being primarily useful for either raw athletic big men, or upperclassmen. His age really doesn’t bother me when you’re talking like very late 1st/2nd round.

While obviously all juniors/seniors don’t pan out in the draft, I really feel like the guys that slip through the cracks are overlooked because of their age. I think it’s more rare to find like a one-and-done guy late in the draft that ends up panning out.

Mann, Powell, Brunson, Kuz, Josh Hart, Derrick White, Dillon Brooks, Brogdon, Desmond Bane, Dinwiddie, Draymond Green, Khris Middleton just a few examples of upperclassmen taken late in the draft and really outplaying expectations.

Watching a few highlights, just his feel for the game seems high. I’m impressed with his ball handling and vision, which is something rare for a bigman. Not sure if he can maintain the high level shooting at the next level with the deeper line and better defenders. The offensive game inside also looks unrefined at best, which is a little worrying. I’m scared he’ll just end up getting classified as another “stretch” big, and camp out on the perimeter, if he isn’t able to be productive on the inside. But if he can use the handle to at least attack the basket and make the right reads, I think he has a spot in the NBA even if his own offense is still a work in progress.
