The age thing has become a bit of a fad to me especially when it comes to complimentary pieces. Sanders turned out to be great. Beyond this kids height and athleticism, the two other things that give me hope are his surprising handle for his size and that he’s not totally horrid from the line at 66%. While that’s certainly not great it should allow him to play aggressively. We’ll see.

Definitely looks like has skills, but sometime I worry if that makes it overly complicated. The playmaking is intriguing though. Doesn’t have to be Jokic, but a solid passing big man is hard to find and an underrated skillset.

Feels like a mix of Harry Giles, Hartenstein, Kobe Brown, and Moussa. Hopefully can play more like a mix of Hartenstein/Moussa, than the other two. I’ll have to watch more highlights tonight.

If he were a freshman or sophomore he would’ve gone quite a bit higher, but teams are probably understandably hesitant to take a chance on a hyper raw senior. But I respect the guts from the FO to take a swing – we aren’t contending right now anyways, so why not see if we can develop his jumper and polish his instincts a bit? Plus the second round is kind of a crapshoot, especially since there were some underclassmen who were on the borderline between a 1st and 2nd round grade that decided to go back to school. So really, if we didn’t take Baba, who else was available that would’ve been better? Not like Caleb Wilson is sitting there for us at pick 36.

Really like the 10 rebounds per game. Could be a Moussa (Moussa!!)-type, but with less strength and motor, but more potential to develop on offense, fits more as a PF rather than just a 5. If he can play solid defense and rebound there should be some sort of role for him. Given that his shortcomings and snags were revealed as he began his college career (apparently) it’s not so bad that he’s older and has already developed and figured some things out.
