Yup. Could very well imagine he took a pay-cut for one season and then is like ‘now I want the max, show me the money’. They showed him the Morey instead looking at cold hard facts (including age and how most of those max contracts looked in hindsight)

I still like the idea of having a giant dude to throw at Jokic for a few possessions/6 fouls. I just want as many options to have at trying to defend Jokic as possible, and having someone that dwarfs him would just be a potential wrinkle to throw at the guy that teams have yet to find a way to defend.

He’s always been intriguing, and that hasn’t changed, but he’s still really quite bad. I think he needs to go somewhere that isn’t trying to win so that he can play and try to figure out how to be good. Right now, I don’t think he can help a team that’s trying to win.

I have greater faith that Morris is still willing and capable of taking and making shots, especially in a smaller role/coming off an off-season where he’s fully rested.

Tucker is probably (?) going to bring more energy/hustle/leadership stuff.

I don’t think either is an effective rotation guy in the NBA in 2024.

I also don’t think the Knicks’ players really stand out, but players like Grimes, Quickley, RJ and Randle are aggressive rebounders and defenders. They don’t have the scoring talent that we’d be getting out of a Scoot/Simons deal. Getting Randle, Quickley and Grimes would give the Clippers the type of deep rotation that gets a team to the finals.

I’ve seen some chatter on the Knicks having a discussion on taking PG, but it was too expensive for them. Plus PG wanted an extension.

I don’t see what the Clippers would get from that trade. No Knicks player stands out as a ‘we must get that guy’ type. The only plus would be getting some first round picks back as we’re a little light on those.
