I think we all struggle with that because only one team goes home happy each season and there’s anxiety about being one of the 29 chumps. But we are sitting in an enviable position with two truly elite stars and a solid supporting cast. I’m pretty confident we’ll stitch some facsimile of point guards together and add another big. Beyond that it’s up to the coaching staff and our two super stars. Can’t imagine we won’t be better than last season based upon purging the bottom feeders and adding quality vets.

If we land a big fish like Ibaka then maybe it was worth it. But I’d rather have locked in the sure thing with JMike and taken my chances on a mini-MLE back up C like Noel, or Baynes.

Now if we strike out on Ibaka we’re hosed.

So he’d be a third stringer, which means a minimum deal and no PT when rebuilding teams might give him more money and minutes. Then, you factor in that we already have Fi and Oturu, and probably don’t need a third project big on the 15-man roster, and it seems like a non-starter.
