Any chance in hell we can use a full mid-level exception on Hart? I know he’s playing for a big contract but not even Zu makes 9 million. That’s a lot for a center in the modern NBA.

I know we’re all mad right now and this PG blunder could very well be Powell’s fault. But the greatest blunder IMO is when Ty put Kawhi back in the game against the Jazz when we were up by 14 points at home with 5 minuets left. I was literally screaming “WTF are you doing!” at the TV and then it happened. No one on the medical staff ever promised Kawhi would be back and the delay in surgery was probably moot. If we need a scalp then I’m fine with dumping Powell. Anyway, let’s play the kids and see what develops. It will also be helpful to play some of our vets and let them shine as potential trade pieces. If Serge comes all the way back he will absolutely be our best option at backup center next year since we can pay him with early bird rights—unlike Hart who is a goner. We still have our 2nd rounder so if it ends up a total disaster we might still have some prospects in the high 30s.
