The Clippers are known for the unusual depth that served them well all season. Why go away from that strength just because it’s the postseason? I continue to question the conventional NBA wisdom of shortening the rotation in the playoffs. I’ve looked into this issue a bit and the whole thing still seems somewhat questionable.

Kawhi actually didn’t choose to go on “vacation.” He suffered a major injury. We’ll be much better next season with him doing his incredible Kawhi thing.

I agree, if Pat Bev is not in a Clips uni, I’ll root for the Wolves. They are a damn good team, they smoked the Griz in Memphis, led almost the entire game. We were closer to beating them than the Griz were.

Do you know how to address the rebounding problem? Have a healthy PG and Kawhi.

While yes, I understand rebounding was an issue all season, mostly due to one non-rebounding PF who shall not be named, I don’t think the Clippers need to really make it a priority to go grab the best rebounder on the market if he’s a step back in other areas.

Definitely they need to be looking for a consolidation trade for an upgrade in talent, but I’m just saying, I wouldn’t force like a Reggie Evans onto the roster to address some issue that might not even really be an issue once everyone is healthy.

As others have mentioned, Nic and Mook are not great rebounders. Zu and Terance are good rebounders, but they both do not play enough. When we had Pat Bev, he was a very good rebounder. This is compounded when we play small. Small ball with a healthy Kawhi and PG makes a lot of sense, but we can’t play small for a complete half. We have to mix it up with all of our personnel. I too am also curious as to how Jason Preston is going to play in the Summer League. Man, depressing to not be in the Playoffs.

Would your opinion change once Chris Paul pulls up with a hamstring? Or Devin Booker gets COVID? Obviously I don’t wish those things on them, i’m just saying crazier things have happened, and you get in and you give yourself a shot.

Plus even just 2 or 3 playoff games at home in LA while the Lakers are on their couch, I think always has the best opportunity to make some new Clipper fans. There are so many casual fans that might tune into the NBA playoffs, and if you can capture their attention, it’s a great way to make some headway into this market. I just feel like the Clippers lost out on this opportunity.

Spot on. I often sed during the season that our opponents game plan was just to throw up anything and then grab the OR for the easy score. A guy like Nance would be gold.

I know we’re all bummed but big picture wise it’s probably for the best. We have a lot of core guys who are 30+ and running their bodies down for another 7–10 days and risking injury would suck even more. I was super proud of Zu and how he came out and set a tone for us when things weren’t going well. It was heartening to see the beast in him. However, the one glaring weakness we have is our rebounding and this absolutely must be addressed in the off-season. We all worry a lot about a backup point guard too but I took some time to go back and look at Preston highlights and the kid is a savant floor general so I think we’re solid there. I wish we could find a 6’10’ athlete who could dominate the glass at the 4 for us. I wonder if we could put something together for Christian Wood? There just a aren’t many options available.
