I agree about the playing to egos thing and thought what he did to RoCo in particular was terrible. His personal situation last season, while bad, was no excuse for his strange performance, because we all have to go to work and do the job regardless, and I thought there was a strong case for firing him for cause. I just think we’re not privy to everything going on and that it’s easy as fans to make assumptions. I’m personally just enjoying this thing for now.

He wasn’t in sync with the front office and his decisions were highly questionable. He also didn’t end the prior season well in the play in tournament. He wasn’t good on Team USA either. He has improved this year, however, and that’s kinda all that matters.

Right now, he has this team executing well. The Clips are able to provide multiple looks on offense like an NFL offense in different parts of the games. In the N.O. game, we played a lot of short roll PnR, and then embedded those sets with isolation plays on either wing for PG/Kawhi, and weave actions for Norm. Teams really can’t adapt to what we’re doing b/c there are often two sets of actions happening on each side of the floor, one to set up or be the fall back for the other, and we have good shot makers of the dribble in 1 v 1 situations.

He really did outperform in the playoffs last year, but he makes too many damn mistakes on the court and didn’t evolve his game to channel his aggressiveness to play off the ball given that Brunson/Randle are better.

I don’t think he was coached as well as he could’ve been. In Toronto, he has a better chance to refine his game. He’d actually be pretty good in the GSW system because he can attack the rim aggressively. If he was in a system that involved more cutting and spacing, he could be quite effective.

Need a coach with balls that will shut down egos and convince the players to play winning basketball.

Love the Clippers and the game, but playing Morris and not Roco and overplaying John Wall and not playing T- Mann; all enough to get him fired.

Didn’t know about Coach’s relationship with Steve Ballmer. Companies and businesses are run by people. We are not machines.

Even with all the crap from last year, if we can maximize James Harden with 213, stay healthy — this is the best chance that we’ve ever had to win the Trophy.

We just need to focus on each game, each quarter, each possession. Let’s GO!

I feel bad sometimes because by all accounts he’s a good guy and I wasn’t aware that he was going through all that personal stuff last season. My take has been that he’s good and sometimes great in the micro situational adjustments but can’t see the forest for the trees in the macro.

I began to go south on him when he left Kawhi in against the Jazz when we were rolling and running through the tape in game four and he got that ACL. I’m just a dumb ass musician and I swear I was screaming at the TV “why the fuck is he still out there?!” And then it happened. Who doesn’t feel that coming?

Then there was all of that fruity shit last season where Kawhi comes off the bench and we kept squandering games so PG kills himself and the season against OKC on what ended up being a life or death rebound?

We just saw another flash of this recklessness a few weeks ago when we were up by 25 with like a minute left and Kawhi takes that shot to his quad and misses four games.

This is the stuff that still concerns me. This team should absolutely get to the WCF and if we fail to I won’t be surprised if it’s a result of some health calamity because Ty is too busy playing a jazz saxophone solo to manage the larger symphony.

But that seat is looking red hot right now – guys are chirping to the media and they’re 2-8 in their last 10, man.

A Tucker, Plumlee (cant be traded until the 15th), Coffey, Bones and either Primo/Boston/Brown works. Wouldn’t be giving up anyone in the current rotation really. Jazz cut alot of salary, get 2-3 cheap prospects and could flip Plumlee elsewhere. Rumor is OKC might pursue Markkanen so if the Jazz decide to stockpile picks they don’t need/want Collins.

The misinterpretation was somehow Russ vs Mann from the beginning when it was clearly Russ AND Mann (and RoCo) over Morris. Both Russ and Mann were top5 players for the team and the playoffs clearly showed it. Morris was far, far removed from that.

Mann didn’t play enough, RoCo didn’t play enough. Neither did so because of Russ or ‘a lack of buy-in’, starting Mann, less playmaking, Morris still on the court would have been a bad decision that’s maybe somewhat debatable vs Russ-Morris starting but there’s no debate that Russ-Mann starting both over Morris would have been way better, alongside any combination of one of them with either Nico or RoCo.

Or just wishful thinking? I think they’ll ride with him and Pelinka will try to save his ass at the deadline.
