It should improve as he builds chemistry with the team. The athleticism is totally there and I can’t imagine his BBIQ is gone.

I’m totally with you. If it were up to me, we’d trade Reggie and Morris. I love those guys, but they are the older dudes that aren’t as important to the long term for the team, even though they are great fits currently.

More realistically though, we probably have to trade guys with more value than Morris and Reggie in order to make it a true consolidation trade and not simply a shed of talent. Since that’s likely the case, I’d lean towards trading Kennard and depending on who we are able to get in return, maybe throw in BBJ/JP or Mann (if we have to) with our remaining picks. If we package those guys with MM or reggie, it’s enough money and talent to net us a max player in return (I still have my eyes on Gobert for when the Twolves fall apart (their schedule is supper cushy to start off the season, but I don’t think they are going to last long)). I’m still hopeful that Norm improves as the season progresses, but as is, I don’t think his value is that high and trading him wouldn’t improve the team.

Until Kawhi has fully returned we need 40pt PG13, and we aren’t getting 40pt PG on back 2 backs. I miss Coffey and I miss Mann and fear we have to trade someone (multiple people?) to see meaningful minutes from those two. Problem is, I love all our guys. Morris included. Guy has nerves of steel while most of this team is trembling at the 3 point line. I’m fond of everyone. OK, so Moses has yet to win me over, but Luke with those insert for 3 skills. The Glue Mann. The Zu Man. Who could we trade not named Moses that wouldn’t make you wince? Boston maybe? And yet I find myself longing for simpler times. The beer brand of course, but also the actual meaning of those words. There’s too much talent. Not enough touches. In 3 games (ridiculous overreaction to a sample size I’m fully aware) I would say individual triumphs aside (Zu vs Lakers, PG vs Kings) Everyone is cold. No more Reggie,Norm, Luke if you’re listening Lue thank you Unleash the Coffey. Unleash the motherfunking Mann

It’s funny, I like Wall a lot but I haven’t been as impressed. He’s great in transition, but his halfcourt offense hasn’t been awesome imo.

I mean it’s not like there’s a rule saying you can’t win if you aren’t a 1-3 seed, but the history just shows that the odds aren’t good. The mindset shouldn’t be “we need to go all out all the time and sell out to get the #1 seed at all costs” – it should be “we need to be playing well enough for long enough to get one of those seeds to give us the best chance at a title.”

How much of that is correlation vs causation? Most teams with the higher seeds got those b/c they were great teams. It’s still hard to tell how important the seeding is for a team that has the strength to be a 1 seed, but determines to focus on other goals throughout the regular season (e.g. health, chemistry, showcasing guys for trades, lineup tinkering…etc.).

As someone who just bought the Clippersvision package and is able to finally watch some regular season basketball consistently for the first time in years, I kinda just want to see my team crush everybody, especially the teams in our division, and especially the team in our division featuring a former clippers star who kinda scorned us on his way out.

My kids are too young to understand that nobody finishes the season with a perfect record. They are crushed every time we lose a game.
