So much trauma even trying to describe it generates this kind of diction 😂

With 3 new bodies on this team, 1 that could have been signed early enough to be playoff eligible, who knows? Maybe you feel more comfortable about our place in the standings and jumping doesn’t come to mind?]]> From a championship perspective this season was over when Kawhi was injured in last years playoffs. Not even Michael Jordan would be able to acquire you a ring this late in the year.
As far as entertainment value and team pride are concerned this year was spectacular. I was a fan during an era where simply reaching the playoffs was the dream, and I’ll never take doing so for granted. Plus we have an opportunity to laugh at Lakers fans. (We’ll have to see about that one. A play-in loss to them would shut me up real quick) Obviously the cool thing is it’s this late in the year and we are still in the mix.
Predictions though.
-Pels leap frog us and we have 1 game vs either the Lakers or Spurs. I’m expecting a loss so hopefully it’s against the Spurs, the Lakers are bumped to the 11th seed, our season is over but we still get to laugh at them. That would be victory enough for me honestly. That would already be far more than anyone ever expected upon the realization that 95 million dollars worth of elite player is on the sidelines.
And hey…I keep low expectations because this team has broken my heart broken way too many
times way too many times back, but what if I’m wrong. What if we retain the 8th seed? What if we beats the T wolves? Will it even be the T Wolves or Will another team have dropped in the standings? What if we lose to them but win that second game? Shit! What if it is and we beat the Lakers even if they have their full roster at that time. Now that’s bragging rights. Oooeee in that timeline I get to piss off my cousin. You want to talk about jumping off a ledge? Imagine the Lakers fans if we beat them in a play-in game.

You never know & It’s why we watch.

Correction! We do sometimes KNOW things. Like for example we KNOW that our front office biffed it really hard by not getting 2 new two-way players, converting Coffey’s contract, cutting Scrubb, Hood & O-what’s his face in order to make space for relief at the point whilst simultaneously giving us looks at fresh talent. I tried to mention that about 4 days after we didn’t use our Rondo TPE on a player that we could utilize now and then later for a cut-able matching salary trade asset but you thought that was old news at the time. Nevermind that the pod seems to have mentioned it every episode since 😜 We are currently feeling the ramifications of our inaction and to an unknown extent only negativity can stem from it. With 3 new bodies on this team, 1 that could have been signed early enough to be playoff eligible, who knows? Maybe you feel more comfortable about our place in the standings and jumping doesn’t come to mind?

Looks like not only PG and Norm are coming back but Kawhi too if we win the play in. https://sports.yahoo.com/kawhi-leonard-returning-playoffs-220911289.html

Minny has come down to earth a bit of late and Ja will be hobbling into the playoffs now at best. This means a possible 2nd round matchup with the hobbled Warriors or the ownage Jazz. These developments deserve a podcast:-)

That gives them about 4 to 5 games before the play-in.

Reggie and Mook can go back to filling out their roles. Man, I know it is still unlikely, but if we could roll out our two big stars — healthy with the rest of our guys for this upcoming Playoff series.

We likely aren’t winning a title this year, almost entirely due to our injury situation. Is it possible? Sure. But it’s also “possible” that I win the lotto tomorrow – doesn’t mean that’s something I should be hopeful for and/or expect to happen. It took me a while to accept our situation, but after PG13 went down, and then again after Norm went down, I’ve mostly come to terms w/ it.

Just watch the games, enjoy the development we’re seeing from the young guys like Boston, Mann, and Luke, enjoy the good vibes, and don’t focus so much on winning it all this year.

Talk me off this ledge please.

I really liked what I saw. The guys on the floor were hustling! Rebounding is going to be an issue in the play-in/play-offs. They can get the stop when they need it in the 4th, it’s almost a 50/50 if they are going to get the rebound. The 3’s in the 4th for the Nuggets came off of busted plays and Bones shooting from 5 feet beyond the line. You got to just live with that. Ty has clearly gone into rest mode for the players as they can’t move up and I don’t see the Lakers or Pels reeling off 8 in a row (you never know) to take the 8th spot.
