I think I just disagree. We can discuss the merits of trying vs tinkering during the regular season, but there isn’t anything you could point to that says Ty is a bad coach in a scenario where he is actively trying to win games (playoffs). The only data that we have is that he’s actually a really good coach in those scenarios. I’m not ready to write him off until there is reason to suggest otherwise.

This is a pretty simplistic take, I know — but in the nba I think success all starts with 3 pt defense. That shot is such a powerful weapon, fueling come backs and getting separations. Causes euphoria/energy for the make and time outs/hanging heads for the defending team. Good 3 pt shooting teams feast on lazy, aging defenders (which we tend to be). I’d prioritize upgrading that defense and try like hell to contest every shot. We seem to gamble too much and dare guys to burn us from the outside — that’s a losing, lazy strategy in my book.

Come on man — at this rate we’re scratching for the play in. In fact, we’re scratching to end this losing streak. I’ve pretty much lost my faith in Ty. He’s just not that smart and gets out coached way too much. But it’s pretty tough, not to mention balsy, to change coaching midseason — I mean tanking teams do it and then there’s the player’s reactions to consider. Some are no doubt on team Ty so it’s a pretty delicate situation. The larger point is that, barring a trade or other player change ups, would a coaching change likely improve the team’s fortunes, one way or the other. Probably depends on who you’d bring in.

Also, “We need to get better”! BS again. These are good players (and have shown as such in the past). Lue needs to create a consistent strategy, stick with it, and let the players execute it. You need plan better to allow the player an opportunity to “get better”.

“We’re still experimenting”? BS!!! Lue, you’ve been a coach in the NBA for a long time, you should know how to put a lineup and schemes together already. You’re being paid big money do to that. If Ballmer wanted to put together a tax-penalty team and simply fiddle around and “experiment”, he wouldn’t need a tenured coach to do it.

I agree Greek … TL needs to get his act together/. He is NOT performing his job.

At this point Ty has lost me as a fan, and I’m fine trading basically anyone and everyone outside of Mann. I haven’t been this disgusted with the team since the bubble collapse.

Seems simple enough. I don’t know what it will take to shift Ty Lue into ‘win now’ mode, but the Front Office has tools to make it happen.
