At this point, I feel like I’m desperate to have a young “star” given how over the hill PG seems at times. Given we don’t have draft picks forever, I think I’d be open to trading Mann and Luke along with filler (wall, MM and/or reggie) to get a guy like Lavine. I don’t like Lavine’s game at all, but he seems like a pretty good dude that consistently works on his game. He probably isn’t the best fit with Kawhi or PG, but maybe he can wreak some havoc and get some actual movement initiated in our offense. We’re going to need a solid #2 to play alongside Leonard as PG deteriorates.

I mean if the price is right, then sure? The problem is Ty (and Kawhi) seem to want a “traditional PG” and Zach Lavine for sure ain’t that. Also saw a report today that the Bulls are “unlikely” to make big changes at the deadline, so Lavine and Caruso are probably not realistically on the table.

I really hope it was just a random cold night to compensate for the Clips hot 3-pt shooting against Atlanta, and not Luke’s calf acting up again. Last time he came back he looked bad/hobbled and then went on the shelf again, so I’d really like it if this cold night weren’t due to injury yet again…

From some perceptive Bulls fans:
On Kawhi: “He’s a defensive menace.”
On our D: “The Clippers smothering defense is truly fun to watch. Too bad it was against the Bulls. I’d love to see them healthy in the playoffs.”

Hard to peg reasons for the cold shooting. At first, I figured it was just Luke and his lingering hurts but then others just couldn’t find the range either. Chalk it off to bad road shooting — that’s a thing isn’t it? I’m sure they’ll find some practice time today and get some confidence. Would be fun to be a fly on the wall during that practice session (bet Luke hits 10 3s consec).

That last defensive stop (with 10 seconds left) was epic. Not just the steal, but more importantly Chicago was obviously trying to set up a 3-point opportunity. And the Clips walled of whatever play was called. Chicago could not inbound the ball where they wanted and were forced into a suboptimal pass. Even if Lavine didn’t lose the ball, I’m not sure they were going to find an open shooter.

Some comments from Bulls fan and others on r/nba PGT:
“Kawhi absolutely locked up Demar tonight I haven’t seen him play that bad all year. Good games for Zach and Vuc and the clippers are scary with Kawhi and PG so all in all I can’t be mad.”
“Lavine was going for a quadruple double. Clippers defense is Legit. Sucks to lose but credit to Ty Lue and the Clips.”
“Clippers are now fully healthy, right? They’ve been steadily pushing up the standings. Post-season will be insane.”
And this one is colddd and from our fan:
“We’re better than fully healthy. We have no John Wall.”
At this point, I personally believe he’s good dude.
But the strategy that works for us is to surround our healthy stars with switchable defenders who can shoot and play the best in their roles. That’s why we have so many 2-way wings and we always look dominant when lining up with those referred.
