DLo would be a solid get, but maybe been playing too well, and kind of doubt the Wolves move on from him at this point. Do you give up the 2028 FRP to get DLo? That’s a tough call. FVV I guess is the only other guy I’d really be excited about, but he just hasn’t been very good. Hopefully a better defensive Reggie?

So what would the deals look like?
Reggie, Luke, Morris, 2028 pick for Dlo and Kyle Anderson
Wall and 2 second round picks for Plumlee

That’s at least what I would want to see happen.

Unless the new “starting PG” is late 20’s and athletic. But that doesn’t really describe the names that are being considered (Conley, Lowry, FVV). Then maybe we’re talking about someone like Rozier … but I doubt Charlotte wants LAC’s assets.

The off-court issues are clearly the main problem and the reason he’s available for such a discount to begin with.

I mean less so if the proposed trade was Mann and Luke, but I would’ve easily done any combination of Mook, Reggie, Kennard, and Wall, maybe even Norm. I’ve heard national guys say they probably prefer what they got as far as players in DFS and Dinwiddie, but I know I wouldn’t trade like Reggie, Norm, and Mook for those guys. Was like just a season ago, Dinwiddie was traded as like a salary dump.

Consolidating their bad defensive guards into one star bad defensive guard would do wonders for defining the roles on this team.

I understand this team is deep

Ty sure as hell doesn’t seem to think so, given that he’s been regularly rolling out 8-9 man rotations during the regular season.

I mean I understand this team is deep, so makes it difficult, but still feels like I have no idea how capable RoCo is at playing the center position, or how this team looks with like him as a primary member of the rotation. I’m hoping the front office has a little clearer vision than Ty, and maybe uses the deadline to shed some of Ty’s crutches (Morris and Reggie). Just feels like this team really needs to use the last few months of the season to really define roles and get their 8 or 9 best players on the floor for as long as possible.

While I do think a solid backup center would be helpful, I still think forcing minutes to guys on like the buyout list or guys not even in the NBA is not a solution.

In my mind, big picture wise, ideally you can find deals that trade Wall, Morris, Reggie, and Luke (or Norm) for a real “starting point guard” and a “backup center”.
End up with a good solid 9 man rotation of

“Starting PG”/Mann
PG/Norm
Kawhi
Batum/Roco
Zu/”Backup C”

I don’t know exactly how this gets done, but the “backup C” spot definitely seems like the easier portion of the trade to pull off than the “starting PG”. At the same time, I think you have to find someone that is a pretty solid NBA player, and at least better defensively than Mook. I do like Plumlee for his rebounding and playmaking, if he can be had for cheap.

Would hurt to lose Kennard, as I do think he’s a very capable player in the NBA, but clearly Ty isn’t going to play him a point, and this team has a glut of defensive liability guards. Trying to convert them into a starting point guard better than Reggie, is going to be tough.

Like…wait? They are rebuilding? Personally I like that the Nets fans are fond and familiar with Spencer. They deserve something. The “flipping Dinwiddie” threw me off

He’s done pretty well for the Celts from what I’ve seen. More Germans please (Ich bin aus Deutschland).
