Harden put him in a tough position. I think waiting for a team to have at least somewhat comparable desperation as Philly has makes sense. There is a much better chance of that happening over the next 3 months than there was in the past 3 months. If you’re Morey and your goal is to best manage the long term of the franchise, you can’t give up yet.

Unstoppable force hits immovable object. Morey is re-writing the playbook on how to deal with pissed off stars.

He’s never once veered offfrom that statement. I think he showed up to camp to get his money, get into better shape, hoop, support the players/teammates , and also in good faith hoping 76ers would make good on there supposed” promise to trade him to the clippers. Obviously morey and the sixers are waiting it out.
I think patience has been the main skill set gms have been practicing lately and I’m sure morey is gonna wait to see first injuries if the season and see what other teams come out and offer something close to clippers package or better (even if it’s just for a rental )

Imo
1. No trade is imminent , this goes on through the season or
2. Morey is saving face and stalling so that it looks like he didn’t just cave in right away to harden and the clippers and a deal materializes sometime between now and first couple months of the season. Or
3. Not the most likely imo , a deal materializes before season starts.
Morey is an asshole
He’s not gift wrapping harden to us anytime soon I don’t think , but hey if he does I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

We’ve been hoping he’d get a little bit of a face-up game ever since we traded for him, but it just hasn’t happened…so I’ll take whatever we can get from Zu offensively, but I’m not expecting anything dramatic.

That being said, I would call our FO scouting/drafting departments busts though – just so many whiffs.

Also yea, McGee and DJ were physical freaks, man. Moose is decently athletic, but DJ is in like Dwight Howard tier in terms of athleticism.
