SGA
Harden
Paul George
Tobias
Hartenstein

Bench:
Bones
Kennard
Landry Shamet
Marjon Beauchamp
Mason Plumlee

Obviously considering they traded SGA for Paul George, and Tobias for Shamet, they couldn’t have kept all these guys. Maybe could use some more size off the bench. Maybe can take some of the eliminated guys, Amir Coffey, Garrett Temple

It was best first round, imho, since at least 2015 when LAC beat the Spurs 4-3.

Shout out to all the former Clipper who were pivotal in their team’s victories:

Philly: Paul George was great. Exceptional defense against the Js; clutch shooting and rebounding; good connector play; and some real leadership getting in Maxey’s face after game 4.

Cleveland: James Harden was the best player on his team and dragged that underwhelming CLE team over the line. Toronto has great defenders and they threw everything they had at James, but he got Allen going in Game 7 to get the win. James made a mistake, imho, leaving LAC. The LAC team we had prior to the deadline was better than the one he is playing for in CLE. Had that Clipper team stayed together and made it to the 6th seed, we’d have a clear path to the conference finals.

Lakers: Luke Kennard was stellar for LAL. His performances from Games 1-3 were among the best of his career. Although he had a stat and usage rate dropoff from GM 4-6 (Reaves came back), I’d say that his connector play was essential to the Laker win. Until Reaves works his way back into form, Kennard is the best guard on that team and might be the team’s second best overall player atm.

Pistons: Tobias Harris had a redemption arc, the type of play we saw when he was with LAC. He fell short in Philly, but given the talent limitations of the Detroit roster, he really stepped up to be Cade’s wing man. They absolutely do not win that series without his stellar play.

Tobias’ stats after Detroit fell behind 1-3: 25 pts/game; 9 rebs; 48% FG; 47% 3PT. He was the best player on the floor in Game 7.

Minnesota: Bones Hyland established himself as a credible and respected rotation player. He gave his team valuable mins in their upset win over Denver.

OKC – SGA/Hartenstein – ’nuff said.

It’d be CP3 drama all over again. I’m all for it for 2 1sts (unprotected) and Jimmy all over the coaching staff.

The Pistons trade is interesting. It would help rebuilding.

No to the Rockets and Heat.

First few years, they probably thought they had a budding superstar, but stats across the board just haven’t really taken a major jump. Just feels like they might be convinced to move on from that twin towers if they think Mobley has plateaued. Mobley would be like the ideal guy to me if you are trading Kawhi for a young player.

I think the only reason Jimmy would make sense is if you think you can flip him to another team for more assets. Can you extract at least another 1st rounder for Jimmy? I would hope so, but he’s 36 coming off a torn ACL, and shown in the past to demand out if not in a good situation, and has burned a few bridges on the way out of other situations, so feels like the number of suitors for Jimmy might be tough. They better have a deal in place for Jimmy or make it a 3 team trade if they take on that package.

Maybe Podz, a bunch of expirings, and a bunch of unprotected picks, but the rumored Jimmy package just makes no sense to me.

Giannis to Portland would be fun, though probably ill-advised. Even if Portland magically added Giannis w/o losing anyone I still don’t think they would be on OKC or San Antonio’s level.

They might scramble to get their team improved.
Let’s just say CLE think their twin tower have been past its expiry date or ORL needs another guy to help lessen the load on Banchero.
Even BOS might think they should shake their core a bit after getting ousted by 76ers.
You never know what will happen in the league.
Let’s see how it goes.

I had such high hopes for Bogi when he came. I think just the way he looks like an absolute superstar on the international stage, you always hoped in the right situation, you could unlock some of that potential. Instead, it seems like it will always be left in the likes of Luis Scola, Patty Mills, or even MBFGC (IYKYK), who just dominate for their national teams, but will never be more than a role player in the NBA.

Just to me, feels like he’s wildly inconsistent. I think he shows flashes of the international player and the ability to just take over games, but unfortunately just doesn’t happen enough. Feels like he’ll have a hot week or two, then go back into obscurity for months on end. Just hard to carve out a consistent role for a player like that.

I actually wish he was like on this year’s Brooklyn team, where he could be a starter and take all the shots he wants. I feel like in that situation, Bogi could look like a star. Nets might be better off giving the Clippers a do-over in the Bogi/Mann trade, and let Bogi be next years MPJ.
