My problem with this pick has always just been that we don’t control our own draft until like 2030? So we’ll have this 5th pick, and probably not another top pick for years to come. Really hard way to develop a young core.

Sadly, no real way to guarantee a top pick, especially so far out. Don’t know which teams will be in the tank at that time, and the uncertainty in the tanking rules makes it crazy. No one is trading you a bottom 25 protected pick.

Doesn’t mean it can’t improve but it’s a real issue for any team drafting him.

KAT’s no more of a “loser” than Mitchell or Harden when it comes to the postseason in particular.

We need length.

We have to be laser focused on rebuilding now so that we can have a true contender in 3-5 years.

I’m not thrilled about smaller guards.

Someone showed a photo of Wemby next to one of his 6’6″ teammates, who ends up looking like a little kid.

Turning of the page of the era of LeBron, now to the era of Wemby?

If LAC’s pick this year ends up being a stud, he will be in top form in about 5 years. So that is the window, and LAC should start building for it now.

His playoff track record has been very uninspiring. It’s also easy to write off the Knicks’ competition, but Toronto was the worst team in the playoffs and Detroit’s roster had crippling flaws and wasn’t anywhere near as good as their record made them look, and Cleveland struggled with both of them.

I was never really impressed with KAT on the Wolves and thought he was soft, but credit where credit is due, he’s taken his game up a notch as a Knick. They’ve looked unstoppable since Brown changed the offense to make him the focal point instead of Brunson, letting him pick apart opposing defenses with his point-center skillset. Of course, the Spurs will probably sweep them anyway, but they might have had a real chance against OKC.
