I guess that’s another way to go sideway if you want to put it. 🙂
And I’m fine with that.
You can care and complain stuffs or you can root hard and accept when things aren’t going your way. There is nothing wrong choosing to go in either direction.
I’m upset and I want us to re-assess all the things we do and find the way to improve.
But at the end of the day, you live another day for a chance to prove it.
I will keep rooting for our guys and I’m pretty sure you will do the same too.

You win some, you lose some, that’s how life works.

This has the same energy as Doc shrugging his shoulders and saying “it’s a make or miss league” after blowing another 3-1 lead.

You guys coddle this franchise way too much. This was not just unavoidable bad luck that jinxed the team or something. This was a disasterclass of terrible process that was entirely within the team’s control. Negotiating, team-building, player development, evaluation of our assets/players, coaching – this team literally got ALL of it wrong and did the exact opposite of what winning teams do at every turn.

The Clippers must do serious self-reflection on what went wrong. If we all just shrug our shoulders with this BS mentality of “we just got unlucky, every team would have done this, blah blah blah,” the Clippers WILL trade another decade of draft picks for the next shiny object when they get a chance and the results will be just as disastrous as they were this time.

55 seasons of existence and all this franchise has to show for it is one WCF and a list a mile long of historic embarrassments. They have not earned the benefit of the doubt you want to give them.

We’ll be the 4th or 5th seed and choke in the first round like always. In other words, just “good” enough for everyone to keep their jobs and for Kawhi and Harden not to be traded. Being a fan of this franchise is like Groundhog Day.

Everything spurs told us about him and uncle Dennis was spot on.

Not going to lie, I was a Kawhi fan back then and still started having serious doubts about what looked like him quitting on Pop and the Spurs. After all, if he could do that to one of the best-run franchises in sports, imagine what he’d do to the Clippers.

The title run he had with the Raptors fooled me into thinking the Spurs had been the problem all along. Turns out my initial gut feeling was right instead.

Kawhi not signing with us would have been a blessing in disguise. He’s been completely useless. Nothing but an anchor on our salary cap and the reason why we’re watching OKC build a dynasty with our draft picks. He’s gone from one of my favorite players to one of my least favorite. I can’t wait for the day he’s no longer wearing a Clippers uniform (or, more accurately, sitting on the Clippers’ bench in street clothes).

No, we don’t have to move on. Moving on and making excuses like you’re doing means the team won’t learn anything from this humiliation. We actually need to keep loudly voicing our displeasure at how this franchise is being run so this never happens again.

I don’t care what “every team” would have done. If every other team jumped off a cliff, the Clippers still wouldn’t be justified in doing the same.

Barring some big time moves, the best case scenario is a repeat of this past season, but that’s unlikely w/ a bunch of teams in the West improving (e.g. Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, probably Portland, and the Lakers). Reasonable expectation for me would be a 6-10 finish – we’re behind OKC, Houston, Denver, the Lakers, and the TWolves, but right in the Dallas, Memphis, Golden State, Portland, and San Antonio range. Which is to say, we aren’t really contending next season w/o some insane luck – and really, outside of getting Sterling forced out, when has Lady Luck ever smiled upon us Clippers fans?

And to be honest, I’m actually ok w/ not contending – I’d rather try to rebuild finally, but I’m fine w/ running it back and keeping the salary ledger clear, either to try to land a big fish in FA or at least to pick up some draft assets by helping facilitate trades. What I absolutley don’t wanna see is the FO trade for more old dudes and/or dish out long-term money on guys who aren’t gonna put us over the top.
