The biggest gripe I have with Morris isn’t that he doesn’t outjump people for the rebound but that he doesn’t box out. If you can’t rebound at least box-out your guy. You can’t not box out at the 4/5 spot.

I’ve been high on the Mavs and a bit down on the Suns. Since the trade deadline the Mavs were something like 20-7 for a win percentage of 0.74 (pace for a 61 win season). Suns had a record of 20-8 in the same timeframe. I still had the Mavs as the slight underdog to Phoenix in the west, but probably the 2nd best team. I was down on the Suns and pegged them as like the quality of a 57 or 58 win team. Still probably the best team in the west, but not as huge favorite as their record would indicate.

We’ll see if home court advantage holds up, but I definitely went into this series expecting the Mavs to make it a long series.

The Jazz were this years Jazz They’d better blow it up in Utah and fast As far as Mook goes: I wanted him gone at this years trade deadline, BUT…if he’s comfortable with a lesser role, and it being Ballmers money and all, I don’t hate the concept of a very expensive 3rd string big. OK, sure! Kawhi & PG13 playoff injuries happen (Zardoz forbid) we are fucked…but the regular season? He could help keep us afloat for sure. I also like the idea of a Mook with rested legs due to lessened playing time (that is if his ego can take it, not saying it can’t…don’t know the guy personally) Maybe he can save those knees and replicate his playing style from that Suns series of yester yore. (Though I did hear somewhere he tried to put on weight last summer to further explore that small ball center position and that’s what fucked him up this past summer…so maybe I need to give up on that dream.
