I think they give him the tax payer MLE, which is a fair deal. Definitely should bring him back, I think the best comp for him is Chris “Birdman” Anderson but with a 3pt shot and not the crazy.

Kawhi and PG are on the wrong side of 30 now, so next year is this duo’s best chance left at a ring together. This further frees up the team to trade Morris and others for a difference maker at PG (RoCo and Batum at PF is really nice).

I think a deal for Malcolm Brogdon for Morris be a good start. Just improve the composition of the roster a little and we are a top 3 team again.

I think #2 is the way. SI and some others wrote about possibly trading our depth for Kyrie. I’m not sure about trading for a headcase like him would be best, but he would definitely help the offense and we would still have the wings to cover up his defense. If not Kyrie, some other all-star.

Depth worked out this year with all the injuries, but the Clippers need to go all-in with a big 3 and become clear-cut favorites to win.

Imo it’s obvious …..
One of two things gonna happen
1. Ballmer and FO feel running it back with everyone that they can resign( let’s just dream that this means EVERYONE including hart batum/ Covington etc) and also a healthy pg13/kawhi
We would have definite continuity for the most part and would prolly have the deepest team hands down ( deep-meaning not all players gonna get minutes they deserve unless we really rest kawhi pg13 during the season) could be a problem, all these guys want to play and be able to say they contribute!
2. We engage in trade, shaving off some incredible depth for upgrades at pg/center positions.
Remember this is more of a gamble , because if we lose depth for upgraded players who are injury prone this could be worse for team success. Myles turner, brogdon, possible buy out players wall/Russ etc.

I personally feel like Zu , one of Luke/Mann , and possibly Morris are expendable if we’re looking for true upgrade. But this is more risky imo
I’d rather take option 1 and roll the dice , maybe add wall if we get lucky and he’s healthy enough to contribute or some other pg insurance out of the box idea I’m sure the clippers will research .
If Bledsoe gets bought out is it even an option that we could bring him back since we just traded him?
I think I remember Lucas saying if he’s bought out/waived we can.

But imo option 1 is more concrete.

Lastly option 3
Find a pg/center upgrade just by trading Morris and some sweetner,
Mann/ future pick/s / Boston?
And then we get to keep most of the depth plus upgrade plus be buyout candidates ?
Also blake supposedly liked a tweet talking about him returning to the clippers. I’m all for this even if he can’t/doesn’t play any minutes as he was my favorite clipper ever and deserves a chance to get a ring and finish his career with us / feel like we owe him it for vet min signing
We wouldn’t be here without drafting him/his star time as a clipper and where we’re at with what his trade brought us. Fuck cp3!

The game next season is going to be can we keep PG13 and Kawhi healthy and fresh for the playoffs while still securing a decent playoff seeding?

Watching the end of that 5th game of the Warriors-Nuggets series, Denver was so gassed. Reminded me of our team against the Pels.
On that same thought, if we can get PG and KL, both healthy for the Playoffs, we just need competent point guard to get the ball across halfcourt, get the ball to either PG or KL. We can’t wear these guys out.
