I have a good feeling about this year!

We had pick 25 and we ended up with 3 promising young players. Even if only one develops, that’s a win. With Kawhi’s injury, there will be some playing time to share.

Boston might be a play to redeem for that obvious mistake.

In other words, do you think he could guard Donovan Mitchell, Damien Lillard or Ja Morant types?

Lately it’s been the opposite, where I didn’t know jack about a guy because nobody expected them to go that high (e.g. Jerome, Fi). Really hyped to see Keon Johnson develop, and I feel like out of all the different basketball skills, a jumper is the most developable (e.g. just look at Kawhi and Lonzo).

As for Preston, like Rob, I would’ve preferred Butler or McBride, but I can at least see the rationale as to why the Clips went w/ Preston instead – length, rebounding, and passing are things the Clips were all missing from their PGs. His skill set actually resembles Lonzo, who most if us have wanted here for a while.

Regarding Boston, I love that we have an owner willing to buy lotto tickets whenever they’re available. It’s crazy how if the NBA allowed high-schoolers to be drafted this dude probably would’ve been a top 5 pick. Obviously that also speaks to how disastrous a year he had at UK, but we got him for the cost of some cash and a roster spot – why the hell not?

I’m all in on the upside of these young guys, and I’m really excited to see what they can do at Summer League.

In the last 2 years we draft T-Mann/Coffey/Scrubb/Oturu/Keon/Preston/Boston.
And we trade for Luke/Zu.
If 3 or 4 of them are still with us 5 years from now, that’s worth it.
Basically, we traded for PG by sacrificing our youth. (SGA and tons of picks) But two years later, half of our teams are young guys. Not bad.
Some of the vets will be moved. I’m sad for that because we have great chemistry in the past season.
We don’t really know the future. But at least for me, it looks bright.
