As always I appreciate the in-depth response. The Kenny Atkinson departure was particularly distressing because I was shocked the Nets let him go and thought he was a steal as an assistant. In my mind he left us for the same position elsewhere, but "Kenny Atkinson was in the 3-6 cluster and took a #2 job."...clears that up a bit. Jackson Batum that's my mantra this summer. I just don't know how much faith I actually have in the uttering of it.

We will fight without Kawhi and when he returns we’ll become much stronger, hopefully a few games before the playoffs.

Look at the Bucks, they persisted and they were rewarded.

I think I already told you how silly this panic was a few posts ago.

Is it possible Kawhi misses the whole season? Yes. Do we know that he’s going to for sure? No.
Is it possible that a guy like Nic Batum says he’d rather jump ship than potentially lose a ring-chasing year w/ Kawhi hurt? Yes. Does that mean he’s going to leave? No.

And the assistant coach thing is absolutely wacko conspiracy stuff. The Clippers intentionally assembled a staff of head coaches-in-waiting last summer, picking the cream of the crop from all around the league. Ty Lue is our #1 and is staying our #1. Dan Craig is our #2 and is staying our #2. Chauncey Billups was in the 3-6 cluster and took a #1 job. Kenny Atkinson was in the 3-6 cluster and took a #2 job. Roy Rogers was in the 3-6 cluster and took a #2 job. All of those guys made perfectly normal, rational choices that you would expect any coach to make any year, regardless of team circumstances. We could have won the title and Kawhi could be healthy and have us heavy favorites for next year and those same decisions would have all been made.

As in, Reggie has pen in hand going, “suuuuuure you aren’t going to trade me for 2 seconds out of absolute desperation? You’re sure?” I’m so frustrated that we don’t get to enjoy nice things. The rollercoaster of Western Conference Finals for the First Time! Aaaaaand now im sitting here questioning if I’ll ever see a Clipper championship in my lifetime. We went from respected destination to chaos. The Thunder must just be tickled pink.

Lucas, is it possible to update the Exit Interviews that were written before the depressing news about Kawhi’s injury? If all of our assistant coaches are bailing ship, (a sign that Denmark smelled like shit, before we were made awares, excuse my Shakespeare) wouldn’t players be hesitant to rejoin this team as well? I feel like a players security with this team is even more up in the air than a regular season due to the Hall of Famer injury situation.
