Once Bev was back, you knew his role would get diminished but trotting out the same lineup & players didn’t help ANYONE! Lou & Sham were horrible & were a liability on BOTH ends! Combine that with trez & you got what we all saw, a complete shit show.. It all came down to doc & it’s fucked up for the players that they were constantly put in positions to fail when they weren’t at their best.. Reading the bullshit he said, in regards to PG, only makes shit 100x worse, fuck him! So as bad as they played last year, I’m giving the players less flack, even trez, cuz there was no game plan, adjustments, nothing.. & that’s a big reason why I wanted Reggie back & think he’ll be more than fine this year + he showed how effective he could be last year pre bubble.. The bubble isn’t the end all be all, like many are making it out to be

He was horrible in the playoffs and managed to have a 0.0 offensive BPM even though he couldn’t miss a shot. Going back to him shouldn’t have even been on the table until Lou and Landry both went ice cold.

I expect him to be on par, if not better, than Bev on his catch & shoot 3s but because he’ll take on the dribble 3s, which Bev does not, he may end up with a lower overall percentage.. Still think he’ll be in the 38-42% range for the season..

I also don’t put anything on the “he was so bad that he got benched even though he shot 50% from 3” take.. Let’s not forget who was coach & what his damn rotations were! Damn near any other coach in the league would’ve made great use of him in the playoffs

Hopefully he knows this and is practicing on the catch and shoot though camp. A lot of our players especially role players that are not gonna be off the dribble shooting as much because of the ball being in kawhi/pg13/Lou/kennards hands should be working on catch and shoot. Mook, Bev, Reggie, Patterson, Batum .
Mook seems like he likes to dribble a tad bit for rhythm before he shoots it, and from memory it’s seems like it’s works better for him, unless I’m wrong and he shoots better from
Catch and shoot? Dont know his percentages?

I haven’t done the leg work to track down numbers on that for Reggie specifically but it’s expected when a player like him has a career trajectory like his. Actually a lot of guards who shoot low-30s on threes are actually written off as bad shooters when in reality they’re shooting high-30s on spot-ups but just don’t get many off relative to their higher-difficulty shots.

Problem with him in the playoffs is in the Dallas series he was forced into playing like almost 30 minutes per game on nights.

If he can keep up the 40%+ shooting from 3, he’s going to be an asset. I know that’s a big ask, but he’s been 35%+ most of the last few seasons, so I’m not expecting a regression to a sub 35% shooter from 3.
