It seems like he’s been in the league for 8 – 10 years!

Folks can become great passers but most tend to be natural at it.. From what I remember, Marc was always a good passer & just a smart player who improved every year.. Zu still has a LONG way to go on the offensive end.. Luckily, he’s good defensively, & we’ll see how good he is playing with non defenders

He’s too damn soft! With less spacing, I don’t see how he improves on that.. His defense will help a bit, as will his rebounding, but the 2nd unit is gonna have a lot of struggles on both ends.. If that results in staggering the lineups though, then I’m more than fine with it..

Either some have it or don’t. Obviously guys can improve on it and be great passers for big men , kawhi steppes his assists up last year but the offense and lack of true pg kinda called for it. Blake was a great passer from day one it seemed, I think he played pg when he was kid which helped . But if Zu got better at passing, plus a Constant Marc gasol mid range shot, he can be more then special especially on his value contract.
We’re gonna take some lumps in the beginning of the season here and there but I think we will win enough to keep us in talks for the 2nd seed but i personally am preparing for some bruises while they work on chemistry/consistency.

I think I’m willing to loose a little athleticism to the Zu Lou pick n roll but gain better rim protection/defense that was completely missing with Trez Lou.
I mean with Trez it even seemed like he he would see somebody driving to the rim and choose not to to even get over and put his body or risk a foul. And I mean this crazy saying this with alotta charges it seemed Trez was willing to take but it’s from my eye test/memory of Trez. Also Trez just looked lost a lot and seemed to communicate very poorly. Zu might be able to post up deeper to the basket as well and since he’s bigger maybe he can draw some fouls to get to the line more often like Trez did.
But also Zu needs to be careful of fouling , I remember some games his fouling forced doc to take him out and that was with docs “already stubbornness to play Zu more minutes”

However, he’s a lot less athletic and less mobile, so Lou’s gonna have to learn to fit his PnR passes in at different angles/spots for Zu to be able to catch them and still finish.

The last part is why I said “I know it’s early.” I’m not panicking about what we’ve seen in preseason, but I just can’t fathom any scenario where Lou/Reggie works out for us. Also regarding preseason experimenting, I want Zu to experiment w/ his jumper in preseason. This is the only time in all my years of following the NBA when I’ve wished that the preseason were longer.
