Look at Marcus after his stint at small ball center in the playoffs. He has yet to be healthy since.

In all likelihood, Kawhi should be a step slower due to the knee injury. It would probably behoove the Clippers to play Kawhi up a position or two. Plus, considering Paul George’s success at small forward, i would like to see Kawhi play some power forward and center in small ball lineups. The Clippers often utilize either Nico or Mook in those positions, yet Kawhi is both longer and stronger than either of those guys.

Clippers could throw out this closing five:

Kawhi/Nico/George/Mann/Reggie

A very energetic look. No way Hart wouldl say or think: “Oh no, why me?”

I do love me some Hartenstein, and I was def an early member of his bandwagon, but Giannis is a different beast altogether. He’s too fast for big guys to stick with out on the perimeter, but he’s still strong enough to punk guys like Deandre Ayton, AD, and basically anyone outside of Embiid and Jokic in the post. We’re talking about an All-time Great status – not “I really like this guy and think he could be a viable starter” level.

So yea, Hart (or maybe Batum in spurts) is probably our best bet to guard Giannis, but that doesn’t mean his odds of effectively guarding him are actually good. As always, would love to be wrong about something like this though lol

Bill Russell, Hakeem and MAYBE Kevin Garnett but not even sure about the latter. I think when it comes to the Bucks it’s the classic “he’s going to get his so we gotta make sure the others don’t beat us.” Dude’s three pointer is starting to go in now. SMH.

Or, maybe I’ve just got a bloated opinion(???) I think he, Hart, is a very unique player as do you as I recall you were on the sign Hart bandwagon before anybody here. Right?

Our best bet is to throw as many guys at him as possible and swarm him (i.e. lots of double teams and running/scrambling to recover), and hope that he settles for jumpers and/or passes to a non-Middleton teammate.

Got me to thinking who on the clips (other than by committee) could have sucess limiting the guy. I was thinking Hart maybe. Has the length, plenty of desire, looks strong enough–all tell me it’s be worth a try. Think Mook would be too small and don’t want to waste PG on him. KL has done it but he’s not around. Zu’s just not mobile enough. What do you think?
