As to LBJ, a guy who likes to handle the ball and walk it up, I’d pick him up full court and make him play like a guard and not like a tall guy who makes smart, effective passes.

AD? He’s a killer, especially from outside. I’d somehow contest those shots with length and strength (PG, KL or Ibaka). If clips can hold AD to 20 pts and limit LBJs assists to somewhere around 5, then we’ve got a chance.

The worst thing the clips can do, as to AD, is to play “I hope he misses” or “he’s bound to miss sometime” defense.

Vogel already showed during the playoffs last season that he can make adjustments that put his guys in position to succeed, now it’s on Lue to show us that he isn’t just Doc 2.0. On that note, even if the Clips look sloppy, I’d still like to see them attempt to run an actual offensive system instead of just “pass to one of Kawhi and PG13 and stand around and watch.” Defensively, I’ll be looking to see if the scheme is still switching on every screen, or if there’s more zone (which we saw in the preseason a bit) and trapping.
