Really liked their moves at the deadline. Got a lot of competent role players. Liked it more than a Buddy Hield/Turner package that always was supposedly on the table for both the 1st round picks.

But in the end, will come down to Lebron and AD, and if those guys can stay healthy down the stretch. I think they probably get at least to the 9 or 10 spot, I mean I can’t imagine the Jazz keep going for it. Even OKC I feel like might shut down SGA as they seem to do every year. Pelicans have not been great without Zion, and Blazers are pretty mediocre. With only a few games separating them, Lakers could easily jump those teams. Still if Lebron or AD are forced to miss any more time, they could also easily find themselves out of it again.

For everyone talking about Harkless, RoCo is a bigger better version of him. MM is our worst rotation player by a wide margin right now and should be viewed strictly as an expiring contract/salary cap filler this summer.

I was at the Laker game tonight. Although GSW didn’t have Curry or Wiggins, I thought it was impressive that the Lakers took care of business and outplayed the Warriors even though Lebron had a bad shooting night, Russell left the game early and AD had a pedestrian performance. Beasley had a hot shooting night, but I think it was the play of Mo Bamba, Austin Reaves, Jarred Vanderbilt and Rui Hachimura that turned this into a blow out. Bamba especially seemed to be everywhere on the court, grabbing 13 boards and scoring 10 points in 22 mins (he, Vanderbilt and Hachimura are among the guys I wanted for the Clips, btw). Huge win for the Lakers as it feels like N.O. is going to drop out of the play in and the Lakers have a shot to move in but have to leap frog Portland and OKC to get there.

Reggie had a decent debut with the Nuggets. What surprised me a little is that Malone is basically relying on Reggie to carry that 2nd unit. He didn’t get much floor time with the Joker. There really weren’t any other dynamic players on the floor with him in his first half stint, which means he has to generate the offense. I think Malone is basically telling him, ‘you figure a way to keep us in games while the Joker rests and he’ll finish the job if you keep us close’.
