As good as Batum & Rondo were the whole game, they had some horrible breakdowns & gambles that led to 8 pts on 3 crucial possessions in that 4th.. Batum going for a steal off a Kawhi miss that led to a 5-4 run out by the Mavs resulting in a DFS open 3.. Then leaving KP free for a layup to unnecessarily step up on Luka when Morris had him contained.. & Rondo not getting out to DFS in the corner, on time, as PG stepped up to cut off the rolling Kleber

Can’t have those breakdowns again, especially when they were cold from 3.. They did ALOT of good but, as usual, are their own worst enemy at times!

Which is why he has to make him go RIGHT! You can give him space playing him right cuz he’s not gonna shoot going right.. His shots consist of step backs, whether it’s going left & stepping back or crossing over (when going right) to get into a step back.. It’s all about getting to your spots & taking the shot your most comfortable with & that’s the step back for Luka! The key is for Zu to keep his distance to cover for his drives so asking him to close the distance won’t work cuz he’ll blow right past him.. Only way that’ll work is if he has have help but everyone is gonna have to be ready to rotate.. Which you can do but I’d prefer Luka going 1 on 1 against Zu inside the 3 pt line while keeping everyone in position to help but staying with their man.. Either way, you’re not gonna stop someone that great but the goal is to make it tough for him & making him trying to shoot over Zu in the paint is the best way to go.. The main issue here would be the foul baiting, which could be problematic

Serge had an instance where he made Luka go right which led to a block.. Nic stepped up to alter his shot & Serge blocked him from behind.. There was another instance where Serge did the same but fouled him on the layup attempt.. Problem with Serge was that he didn’t give himself enough distance.. Nonetheless, I rather see Luka go right & try shooting over length
