He’s the tallest of the three and plays smart if not athletic defense. I wish we hadn’t waited the entire series to where we have to roll the dice in game 7 on how some of these other options might work.

Throw Patterson or Noah in the mix IF NEEDED instead of Trez. They can give us quality 5-10 minutes. Don’t play Trez.
You’ll get better defense from either, plus much better shooting/spacing from Patterson, or much better passing from Noah.

“There’s no secret like potion that something happened,” Rivers said on Monday about the Clippers’ two blown leads in a row. “The two things that we didn’t do, clearly defensively, they shot almost 60% in the second half.”

So yea, I agree with Doc’s characterization of the main problem being the defense. I just hope he agrees with the obvious solution of “maybe play someone who isn’t completely lost and/or lackadaisical on defense (i.e. Trez)?” Playing MM, JMG, or hell PatPat as small-ball Cs would be at least equivalent (but probably better) defensively, and would help boost the offense when it stagnates thanks to all the extra shooting.

It worked towards the end of the Mavs game and he said it was in plans when we acquired Mook. Sounds like a recipe to introduce randomness, weakside offense and give us a puncher’s chance to counter Jokic. It’s total BS to be dogmatic about a system that doesn’t even exist so let’s beat them out their own game with JaMyke and Mook lined up around the arc with Kawhi/PG/Bev and or Lou.
