Maybe somewhere in the multiverse the Clippers finagle a trade for Harden and turn into a terrifying three-headed monster that includes the malcontent party-time bozo, who against all reason works great with Kawhi and PG. I just don’t think we’re in that particular universe.

Even if it’s true Harden is trying to force a trade one has to realize how much Philly gave up to get him. How long they waited and played hard ball to trade simmons for him. Even with hardens stock way down I don’t even think clippers could het harden especially without draft compensation. Even if harden says he only wants to play for the clippers I don’t see Philly taking our best package. In theory three productive players is awesome for a contending team to add depth

Is pipedream imo . We’re gonna be lucky” if we can trade mook or whoever without 1st rounders for brogdon or Myles turner. You know we literally pulled an armed robbery for ROCO and norm but I just don’t see it happening twice.
Also believe it or not contending teams whether in the EC or WC would be semi interested in some our depth, most contending teams already view us if healthy to be a scary top ranked team for next year. Harden can be hidden on D
He can let kawhi pg13 do there thing without having a ton of pressure and he can just facilitate our offense as a pg and he can drain some threes and get to the line . If healthy what team would want to spoon feed even a regressing harden to a team headlined by kawhi and pg13
Also we we have no draft capital to offer .

A comment about Harden on Twitter: "Harden trying to blowup a third team since Jan 2021 (if reports of wanting Doc gone are true). That's impressive." Thunder, Rockets, Nets, Sixers, always unhappy. And like osamu says, "don’t think he’s that guy anymore." Yeah, maybe he'd be happy to come back home to LA. But if he still wants to be The Man, wouldn't work. Don't want him blowing up the Clippers.

This is the worry for me. Kawhi is a notorious worker, and not sure he’ll put up with the lackadaisical nature of Harden. Same reason it didn’t end up ultimately working in Brooklyn, where you would think he should’ve thrived with KD.

But I think the hope is he can come in and accept a lesser role and not be viewed as quite the star he has in his last stops. I’m more interested in his playmaking and drawing fouls than I am in him shooting the ball, like ever. 10 assists and 10 FT per game, is all I would want from Harden, haha.

I’m not sure I’d go as far as giving up Norm. I guess it COULD still be worth it if you think you’re getting the MVP/All-Star kind of player back, just a way bigger gamble. I just don’t think he’s that guy anymore. I think he can still be a borderline all-star level player, but maybe at best a top 30 player, not a top 15 or top 5 player.

If you made me, I could be convinced to give up like Zu, Reggie, and/or Mann, and maybe even a protected 1st round pick in 2030 or whenever they have one available to trade. Adding Norm might be the deal breaker for me.

I think Harden may have been trying to play himself out of Philly and would love to come home. His problem isn’t being washed (although he parties a lot) but rather being in shape. If the FO has confidence that he could round back into form it would be a coup to land a playmaker and shooter of that caliber. That’s a big if but I would trust the FO on that. If they believe he still has all world potential then I think that Mook, Norm and and Luke would get this done. That would be a nice return for Philly too. Maxey and Norm in the back court with Mook and Tobias and Joel up front and an even better version of JJ/Seth in Luke. Don’t like giving up Norm but if it’s super beard 40 and 15 Harden it would be worth it.

Aging distressed *toxic* asset. I heard that the Sixers drew up plays for Harden and he just ignored them and declined to shoot. Have a hunch our front office says “Hell nah, GTFO” to all of that.

with the 76ers eliminated, It made me wonder if the Clips could have any interest in a Harden opt-in and trade. I mean Clips have too many guys, and could have an opportunity to add a distressed asset. I’d be kind of curious what kind of extension he’s looking for, but if it’s just an opt in or maybe 1 year extension (if that’s possible?), it’d at least be a little interesting. I really don’t think anyone is offering him a max deal after that playoff showing. If it only costs you maybe like Morris, Kennard, and Zu (or Reggie), I think you have to at least think about it. Morris and Kennard would surround Embiid with some ELITE shooting.

Obviously there are some Russell Westbrook concerns about bringing in an aging distressed asset, but few things differentiate those deal.
1. Harden is a much better fit for the Clippers that can use some ball handling whereas Russ was just taking the ball out of Lebron’s hands.
2. Russ wasn’t good for like 2 years prior to the trade,
3. Clips could still have guys like Powell, Batum, RoCo, Hartenstein, Mann and Coffey, all of which are better than like the 4th guy on the Lakers last season.
