Eager to hear the thoughts of the Young Turks.

If I walk into your house soaking wet wearing a rain coat and with a soaked umbrella, you can strongly infer it’s a rainy day.

Someone approached someone that if somehow Ballmer were to donate a sizable amount, an endorsement deal would be offered to Kawhi. Sometimes these types of things don’t need to be spelled out on paper or even in conversation if the parties involved are clever enough. I just hate all the hate out there over this. We don’t need this shit.

Remember the media coverage after the 3-1 bubble choke job? This ain’t anything new.

Deep breaths, Clippers fans. We’ll get through this eventually. Plus, there’ll be plenty of time to lose our shit if/when the NBA itself starts making official announcements – preemptively panicking is unnecessary and unhealthy.

And despite the fact that he did actual investigative journalism in today’s media environment, like you said he lays on the spin heavy and comes to a lot of conclusions that you *could* come to, sure, but blatantly ignores other explanations that are equally (if not more) plausible than the conclusions he draws – why? For clicks, obviously.

I’m not worried right now because, as you point out, a lot of this scandal seems to be media-driven. The media (and the population at large) is known for their short attention span. Once something else pops up and/or once the public gets bored of this, which they inevitably will, this Aspiration scandal will likely get put on the backburner and we won’t hear about it again until the NBA starts releasing its own findings.

Scandalous news makes headlines; retractions end up on page 6.

This happened to a small company I worked for. Very disappointing and demoralizing to the employees.

Markkanen went 1-11 from deep and another guy hit the big shots down the stretch, but LM’s stock is trading really high right now, and he gets to keep playing.

Smoothes the road for Luka quite a bit. Luka will be going up against GER and Franz W., Theis, and D Schroder next. Love Theis, Clipper legend.

Jokic gets to go back to spend another 10 days with his horses, but he’s probably rooting for Lithuania and Valenciunas, who only played 10 minutes as they beat Latvia and Porzingis. KP playing big minutes and playing great, which is huge for ATL. Valenciunas is a huge pickup for DEN.

My take is the general NBA discourse wants the Clippers to be guilty and lose it all (shocker) and Clipper fans want to tie themselves into knots to make the Clippers completely innocent.

Here is what we know (based on the reporting)
-Aspiration was a fraudulent company and Ballmer was duped (even very wealthy people can be duped so I don’t read too much into this part)
-Aspiration offered a huge contract that dwarfed every other endorser even though those endorsers actually did work for Aspiration. They also offered 20 million in stock options (even more insane and unexplainable)
-Multiple employees within the company mention that the deal was made to circumvent the salary cap
-The Clippers have been in the news multiple times in the past for alleged salary cap circumvention. They were already found guilty once with Deandre Jordan in 2015

My take if i’m being totally impartial and unbiased. This feels extremely fishy even if there is no smoking gun linking Ballmer and I would be surprised if after the investigation the Clippers were not punished in some way.
