Let’s say the top four prospects are taken and they’re off the board. Now the Clippers have the chance to trade down with the Kings and swap the 5th pick for the 7th and the 34th pick.

The likely scenario would be:

The Kings take Darius Acuff with the 5th pick
The Net take Mikal Brown Jr. with the 6th pick
The Clippers take Keaton Wagler with the 7th pick.

The question is:

Would you rather have Mikal Brown jr. or Keaton Wagler and the 34th pick?

Mind you the Clippers already have the 36th pick and could very likely package both the 34th pick and the 36th pick and trade back into the first round.

In any event, LAC should wait to see who gets drafted at #4 before any deal gets made. If Wilson (or any top 4) falls to #5, that would be preferable to any trade-down scenario.

I know there’s a recency bias and hindsight bias, but like prime Paul George was legit in the conversation for MVP. Dude made multiple All-NBA Defense teams, and a lot of folks thought he would fit well alongside Kawhi – meanwhile JB can’t shoot 3’s and we already don’t have enough shooting on this team. No shade to JB, but I don’t think he’s at prime Paul George level. But even if you thought JB is better than George ever was, they’re at least comparable…which is bad, because we’ve seen how this ends. Harden, George, and Kawhi didn’t work out – why would we think Garland, Brown, and (older) Kawhi would work any better?

Also what promising C corp? Are we somehow acquiring Bam Adebayo too?

I would say Garland, Brown, and Kawhi are “intriguing” in that I’m “intrigued” by their ability to maybe get the 5 seed (pending Kawhi’s health).

Looks real smart in interview, guess he score highly in our mannerism criteria.
Him and Wagler is arguably at the top of our guard target.
Keep the 5th and pick whom we want.
Or trade down and get anyone left.
Personally I want more picks in this draft class.
Many more intriguing prospects along the board. Hope we find the way.

Memphis is looking to move ja morant. Instead of trading down the 5th, why not trade it up to 3rd and add the 36th. Sign & trade Collins plus B Lopez for Morant as incentive. They get their pick of pg off loading morant plus Collins & Lopez. Clips get Boozer & Morant.
