Lots of good PGs 5 to 9, but I think we should draft more PFs or Cs. We need more size and rebounding. Lopez and Batum are going to retire soon plus we have team options on both of them.

I think he just needs to shot more 3s when he is making them in a game. Even the games he hits a couple it still doesn’t seem like he wants to keep taking them. The defense will never worry about his 3 ball if he isn’t willing to let it fly when he has the hot hand.

We need someone bigger than 6’3″ on our team that has some attitude like Kris does.

Kris is a good rebounder as a PG but, an average rebounder at SG.
We need more players better at rebounding for their size/ position. We have too many guys average to below average at rebounding at their position. Kawhi and Yanic are probably the only 2 guys on the team that are above average rebounder for their size and position.
I think Dunn played a lot more time on offense at the free throw line when he wasn’t bringing the ball up as the primary ball handler. He did more floaters and got fouled more inside. I think it is a more efficient style for him, but it helps having Lopez out on the 3 point line.

Changing of the Guard.

KD — keep working on that 3 ball; get it up closer to 40

Knicks/Spurs: Spurs and Wemy looked pathetic. The guards defer to Wemby WAY TOO MUCH plus they really don’t shoot very well (Harper’s the exception). They really heed a guy like James to put Wemby where he needs to me and that ‘s not at the PG spot. The knicks love it. There’s just too much room from the the top of Wemby’s dribble to the floor — a made to order distance for aggressive guards to disrupt; those knick guards have to be salivating. Unless the Spurs change it up, these games are going to be boring.

KAT is able to compete and that narrows the massive advantage that SAS has enjoyed vs other front lines. That means others on the Spurs have to win their matchups to beat the Knicks. They didn’t have that tonight and Jalen Brunson proved he’s a tougher match up for SAS than SGA b/c he lives in the midrange area and has a bit wider bag than SGA. SGA needs the rim to make a huge impact, but that’s not available with Wemby on the court. JB doesn’t care. He’ll keep putting up shots until he gets you to commit and then, boom, he’s gone the other way.

I thought Wemby played a great game and got his team in position to win, but not having Dylan Harper on the floor in crunch time hurt the SAS cause.

Wemby will need to establish position at the elbow area and score out of that position instead of passing the ball up, especially against smaller defenders. Having SAS’ guards work on PnR lob passes would also help.

As for the Knicks, if they can keep KAT on the court, they’re going to be in position to win Game 2 as well. Hart-Anunoby-Bridges are longer and stronger than the SAS supporting cast. Only Harper creates a true match up problem.

I think Dunn’s defense and energy is contagious. He is the positive vibe for the team.
As for the Finals, if the Knicks win, small guard maestro and team-building via trade and free agent might be trendy again.
But it’s lot more basketball to play, so let’s see how it goes.

Happy to see it’s working again. Everyone loves KD. I just feel like he’s one of these guys I’d rather see on a team with a chance to win something.

Knicks stun Spurs. Don’t want to get too hot take but if anyone had an excuse to lose it was the Knicks because of lesser talent and rust. Not sure how a young team like this comes back with “adjustments” in less than 48 hours.

Props to everyone who saw this coming because I sure as hell didn’t.
