Watson would be a great acquisition, but the Nugs value him highly as well. I don’t see them letting him go; don’t feel he is realistic for the Clips.

Cam is interesting if not too costly. But there would be a minutes crunch with players we want to see more of (Miller, Sanders, etc).

One would hope any promise comes with the caveat that it doesn’t apply in the unlikely scenario that one of the top 4 drops.

It’s also possible the promise came from the Hawks saying “we’ll draft you if you fall to 8.”

Mikel evidently has a draft promise and is canceling further meetings/workouts. Overwhelming speculation is that it’s us but who can believe anything in today’s world. That seems a little nutty considering what would happen if one of the top four fell to us. Time will tell.

If we’re going to keep Kawhi and use the pick for a slower transition I’m fine with keeping JC. However, this move below makes a lot of sense too and while I’m not super high on Johnson and would prefer to swing on Watson I wouldn’t hate this. Nice stop gap with only short term commitment.

Also I should add that me pounding the table for him was more him being available for a bag of chips, and me being angry that Ty kept forcing washed up MM out there and playing microball more than me thinking Collins was going to be some huge All-Star-level piece to a contending team.

I’d like to bring him back at a reasonable price. If he’s asking for like $30M/yr then absolutely not. Kawhi re-signing or getting traded also is a huge factor in this because ultimately that’s going to dictate the direction of the team. A rebuilding team is gonna want to play their young guys and only hang onto veterans on short-term and/or cheaper (re: trade-able) deals.

Unless you can really find an upgrade, I say bring him back if at all possible. The Spurs could use him right now vs. KAT. Are you still high on him Chog — as you were clamoring to bring him here for a long, long time?????????
