Knicks are only favored by -1.5 to -2 in Game 3. I guess Vegas thinks the first 2 games have been close and decided in the final minute; Brunson’s FG% and SGA’s are similar, suggesting that SAS’ defense is solid; Wemby is a quick learner, as evidenced by his strong 2nd half in Game 2 after getting punked by KAT in the first half (with a big assist from Tony Brothers; Dylan Harper has been effective in this series and remains a wildcard; the series doesn’t feel like a sweep so SAS is due to win a game.

My counter to that would be: Brunson has had much better shot quality and more FGAs than SGA. He’s just missing and his FG% is likely to regress to the mean at home; KAT, if he’s allowed by the refs to stay on the floor, is proving that he can both reduce Wemby’s efficiency and offset Wemby’s production to a good extent; SAS has no answer for Anunoby; the NYK role players are bigger, longer and stronger than the SAS role players. Even if Harper gets more mins and becomes a problem, I’d expect NYK to throw Bridges on him to slow him down.

The other thing is the Game 2 officiating was egregiously bad and Tony Brothers did everything possible to step on the scale for SAS. Had Tony not taken KAT out of the game, I think NYK would’ve won it without the drama at the end. I would hope the refs would play it straight in Game 3, and that should result in NYK getting more FTAs at home because Brunson is getting past his first defender and SAS is doing a lot of hand checking.

I don’t think SAS is going to fold easily, but this Knicks team is going to play with the same intensity and focus on execution. I think they’re just the better team.

“Tragic Magic” single handedly blows game 7 against the Celtics with numerous bone-headed errors.

Isiah Thomas blows the series when he panics and throws the ball to Bird who makes a play to Dennis Johnson for the win.

Nick Anderson has FOUR consecutive missed free throws any one of which would have won game 1 against the Rockets in 1995. They got swept.

Being young and dumb under pressure is nothing new in this league. One had to wonder if these Spurs were so gifted that they may be able to over come this. Nope.

I think the deficiencies in the young Spurs” games are just being exposed, particularly Wemby, who needs to work on his post game and stop trying to play like KD.

For all the OKC hype, they were a torn achilles away from losing to Indiana last year. I don’t think they would have been any readier for the Knicks. This Knicks team is just too well-built and well-coached, and really the only thing keeping them from being perceived on OKC and the Spurs’ level is that they’re older.

The longer the Giannis soap opera drags on, the more convinced I am that he’s actually just trolling the prediction markets again and will stay in Milwaukee. Which is fine by me since I want no part of another big trade that will almost certainly backfire on us.

We got the wrong finals matchup. OKC would have been much more competitive — more balanced, bigger, better shooters. Or, maybe it’s just that SAS has lil to nothing left after OKC. Spurs fans have to be demoralized watching all those bricks and youthful mistakes. Wemby’s pass to Castle, who was not looking his way, was cringeworthy. Wemby had been bringing the ball up a lot and Castle knew Fox was in the backcourt so Castle figured “he’s not gonna pass to me so why look back.” Still, no excuse for Castle to not be looking back — youth. And, Wemby has no biz passing to a guy when his back was to him. Bad, dumbass, youthful mistake.

The more I watch SAS stumble, the more I think our Clips could have competed vs NYK
