Very little idea what to expect

The Spurs could be fine but wrecking the league would be a stunning leap after winning 22 games last year

CP3 was the perfect compliment and they round out their starting five with Vassel, Collins and Barnes. They also have a compliment of good role players.

Front line is 7’4″ Wemby, 6’11” Collins and 6’8″ Barnes. Vassel is a cold blooded killer at the 2. I hear their coach knows what he’s doing too.

I do agree that the Mavs are making solid bets: none of their additions is awesome but every single one has shown flashes to make it a reasonable bet that one or two out of Hardy, Grimes, Marshall, Edwards, Exum, Dinwiddie and Prosper will be quality contributors as 7th or 8th men. Most of these guys also have shown two-way potential. They’re just cheap because they could never consistently produce on both ends. Wouldn’t be surprised if they got that for a season or a playoff run out of a couple of guys.

Pelicans continue to be weirdly interesting. My question alongside fit and who starts at center is mostly about their star players: it’s time for Zion and Ingram to deliver reliably and at a high level, not just on offense, if the Pels wanna go anywhere. Murray, Jones, Murphy, CJ as a 6th man – that’s a strong #3-6 which allows for a lot of interesting lineups. If Hawkins takes a step forward and Theis continues to be solid, the sheer talent plus good coaching should outweigh questionable fits. Unless you get half-assed defensive efforts from BI and Zion. If they make it their mission to both be all-stars I could see them with home-court advantage. But only then

Memphis another team sparking a lot of questions.

Spurs with Victor and other young talent, Houston pretty much a younger version of the Pels? I like a lot of their guys without actually liking the team.

Not a single team in the division that’s easy to predict.
